I should have went deeper than 4:10's

gears don't work miracles ...yeah theyll give it a kick and probably shave a few tenths, maybe a half off your time, but you're still dealing with the same number of horses ...and once you get steeper than, say, 4.30s ...it will probably just make it even harder to get good 1/4 times

    is backfire bad??

if your car just kinda burbles/pops when you let off the gas and are decelerating, thats nothing to worry about ....backfire is different ...loud and sounds kinda like a firecracker ...i doubt it would hurt your car but it definetly shouldnt be running like that all the time (if it is actually...

H or X pipe? cant decide

Both H and X sound deep on a stang ...any midpipe will sound good on a stang ....the X just sounds smoother than an H ...H has more of the classic sound, while X sounds faster/high reving ...and as long as you stay away from the bassani x design, it won't sound raspy, it will sound badass and...

    is this x-pipe any good?

I haven't heard the pro-chamber + flows first hand, but I definetly like the sound of the X ...if you are going for the "60s muscle car sound," well I would say you should get the H pipe and flowmasters instead ...it will keep that throaty deep mustang sound ...if you get the X, it will just...

    is this x-pipe any good?

any X with that junction sounds good ... if you look at a bassani junction, it's visibly different than others such as mustangtuning, slp, upr, dr gas, etc ...these ones sound really smooth and clean out the burbling sound of the H, but still have a deep tone ...just sounds like a fast, high...

    X pipe or H pipe?

definetly go with the x-pipe As far as performance and sound, my X beats the H pipes I've had experience with before. I've heard good things about prochamber, but haven't had any experience with them.

    newbie question about gears

I just got 4.10s in my '96 yesterday ...I like them ..nice kick to it now ...and if you don't wanna shift a lot, you can just use 2nd right to 4th or 5th ...but when you wanna tramp it down through the gears and have fun, you won't regret the 4.10s ...1st gear does become useless however...

SLP catted X-pipe. Do you like it?

I like mine ...fit good and sounds great ...Think the cats help eliminate any of the rasp of the X, and leave you with a real smooth, clean tone. With flowmasters, it isnt too loud, but loud enough when you run it out - and has a perfect sound. I recommend flowmasters with any midpipe - X, H...

    Crap on my car...

bird crap really eats away at the paint ...fast too ...if you notice any, you need to get it off immediatly ...if it sits for a few hours it will mess it up permantely ...sap is bad too ...my car is black so everything is worse ...i usually use some micro compound and glaze/wax on it after i get...

    Evilest souding exhaust?

cat back = I'd say SLP loudmouth or Flowmaster American Thunder full exhaust = Long tubes, Dr. Gas X, Flows, dumps (evil :D )
  14. Steve777

    Exhaust..(Performance VS Sound)

X pipe has a smoother sound than the H pipe ...people say the H is deeper, but the X is plenty deep, just smooths out the note and gives it more of a race car scream rather than a burbling H pipe sound. Catted X with Flowmasters sounds mean ...and O/R X sounds even meaner ...but definetly go...

    rear window louvers

Anybody know a good place to get mach-1 style rear louvers? Also, if you have them, any pics? especially a '96-98 GTs ...I'd like to see how they look on your cars. All I seem to see them on is the newer style machs (obviously). Thanks

Dr. Gas X design vs. others

Just wanted to point out how different X-pipes such as SLP, UPR, and Magnaflow use a VERY similar (if not exactly the same) X junction design as the almighty Dr. Gas. The ones that are designed differently, and therefore might give you an unappealing sound, are Bassani ...I've heard some...
