    yes and no first off your best bet and cheapest route will be the 5 speed swap but if you want to keep you a4ld you can have your tranny guy rebuild it with the "guts" for an explorer a4ld and use your casing and bellhousing. pretty sure that can b done im sure someelse will chime in if im wrong

    a4lds are junk do a 5 speed swap and it will fix your acceleration problem a little bit put a turbo motor in it and the entire problem is solved

    um i understand that andon allnewer cars that i work on get what the factory calls but my motor is far from factory i have heard that the turbomotors will melt the platnum plugs just wondering and ngks do much better and last longer than the stocklmotorcraft replacements in my motor
