    8 inch strength?

Did some research. A 28 spline 9 and 8 inch will have the same axles and spider gears. interesting.

    8 inch strength?

Good info. Thanks. I'm not super into drag racing anyway. Mostly autoX and road racing. I like trying to make the car as light as possible, so I want to keep the 8, and upgrading to the aluminum casing and pinion suport. My plans for the future was to build a motor putting 400+ hp to the...

    8 inch strength?

Ya, I got Dutchman 28spline axles. I don't think the 8 can accept anything more than 28 spline. Mustangs and fast Fords had a 68 mustang pulling 11sec 1/4 miles with an 8 and dutchman axles. seemed to take the abuse. I'm nowhere near that. So I think I'm ok for adding lots more power than I...

    Questions for Alcino

Sounds like you are doing this on a budget. never thought of shaving the rotor down to a hub. Hope you have room for the wheels to move out the thickness of the new rotor. What calipers are you going to use with this bracket? my wilwood bracket was only about 1/4 inch thick and made of...

    8 inch strength?

My 8 inch rear has stood up to some abuse, but I wanted to know who has broken one, where did it break(casing, pinion suport, axl, ring, pinion, yoke), what hp/tq were you pushing, what trans(stick, auto), and what were you doing(side steping the clutch on slicks at 6000rpm). Currie makes an...

    Questions for Alcino

The front kit was all bolt in from wilwood. Its great that hotrodders loved this front suspension. the rear, I pieced parts together and made a custom braket. But don't worry about the back brakes too much, the fronts do most of the work. If you want to see some pics of my brakes click heree...

    Spring is here (Flex-A-Form)

what does rough mean? seams normal for how much stiffer it the spring is compared to stock. I think I paid $450 shipped. Is that expensive? Seemed like a good deal for the weight savings and that it was a part actually available for a ii. I've liked mine so far.

    Questions for Alcino

Seems to have less wheel hop. Could be from the springs being stiffer than stock.

    ford show at knott's 2006 (56k beware!)

Cool pics! My car made it on your short list of photos. Thanks! That Black car with the ferrari wheels was right behind mine. You wouldn't believe how many people were stopping to see it. Lots of trick parts on that one.

    Congrats to Alcino!

I did a little write up on my current suspension and plans for my future suspension at pro-touring. I used Suspension Analyzer to verify what was going on. BlueThunder, glad to here that the wheels/tires should fit. Saw the pics of yours. Do you think the tires would still fit if the car was...

    Spring is here (Flex-A-Form)

The stock springs that I have (76 cobra II V8) weigh 26lbs. The flex-a-forms really weigh 8lbs. I know its crazy, but they do. I think they are made of a combination of carbonfiber. I really should put some traction bars, but they have handled the abuse of racing and I drive it about 3-4...

    Questions for Alcino

Yes. I assume your asking about the flex-a-form. No, I just said I had a mustang ii and wanted something for all around racing. He sent me a 205lb set that I broke(freaking discount tire lifted the car on the leaf) and replaced with the 225lbs set. Be patient when dealing with the owner...

Can a open rear end be converted to a posi?

Do not weld the spider gears. Yes it is cheap, but you will hate driving the car. I did the powertrax lock right locker. All you do is remove the spider gears and add the unit in their place. Not that hard to do. They now have available a "extreme traction system" which should...

    SoCal II Owner's Listen Up

looking for parts huh. I just happen to have a fiberglass hood that I am about to sell. it is a 3 inch cowl style "bolt-on" hood that was never installed. I also have some south side machine lift/tractions bars. Maybe a few other things, but those are the main ones that people would want.
