My speedometer needle bounces as I accelerate and when I am at a stop light it doesn't go down to 0,it stays at about 10.otherwise the speedo is accurate.I had the cable lubed and it didn't solve the problem.Any ideas on how to fix?
If you haven't got the C&L unit yet..STOP!If you drive anywhere but the track your chances of maintaining good driveability are much better with a MAF from Prof. Mass Air.Spend the extra money.
I replaced my rear shocks last year with the stock ford units.I am now replacing my front struts.I was thinking about just replacing them with Ford struts but its not that much more money now to get 5 way adjustable Tokico's.I favour a ride on the softer side. Will the Tokico's have a softer...
If you can adjust all of your 1.7's one quarter to a half turn (and assuming you did it according to the Crane/Ford directions) then your pushrod lengths should be fine.Another clue is that it can't be a very big cam to cause you to need longer pushrods.
I am replacing my lower front control arms for the ford racing arms which are supposedly made to improved '96 specs.I did the 5 lug disc brake conversion using '94 spindles etc. There are two versions of the Ford racing arms;pre '94 and '94 up.Due to the brake upgrade work I had done, which one...
155lph is certianly enough for your combo.Of course,if you upgrade to a supercharger or 347 etc. later it may not be enough. For an extra $10 or $20 you can get a 190 or 255 so why not just get one of those unless you are sure you are done with engine mods.
I agee.I see so many crappy running modified street Stangs because of committing the cardinal sin...."Bigger is Better".It is all about balancing/matching components if you want to retain streetability (good throttle response, low end torque) while getting good power and torque increases at...
This was a major headache for me.My mechanic reverse flowed the tubing so that the air (with the oil) goes into the valve cover instead of the intake.Supposedly Chevy's commonly use this approach.Never had a problem since. The little oil catcher has been bone dry ever since.I don't have to add...
Unless the P's are ported for additional airflow at higher lift you may not benefit much from the additional lift you get from 1.7's vs. 1.6's with that cam.
When I did my 5 lug conversion I put the dual piston PBR calipers on too. They work great. But it seemed a shame to paint them since they are aluminum so I polished them to a nice shine which works well behind my '99 polished cobra wheels.
Yeah, brakes, stiffer chassis. The vert chassis stock is a bad joke.Body wise, the 3 piece rear bumper on the GT really spoils the lines on the car. They fixed it on the 93 Cobra.
