What is Torque, whats the difference between that and HP?

like wythors said: torque gets you there/ horsepower keeps you there

To mod, or not to mod...what do you think??

mod the hell out of it, it's a 91 coupe....a 93 Cobra R with 1 mile on it being the only exception, fox bodies are never going to be an investment, even the rare SAAC cars, limited Saleens, blah blah blah. "A lot of money" is different for everyone. Throw the parts catalog at it, and enjoy it...

    351w question

I would opt for a 69-74 block all day!!!! They are a lot stronger, the roller conversions are cheap and you can run any roller cam you want. I don't think the roller blocks are ideal, engine builders smile when you bring in a seasoned 69 block, mine did :)

    what would you do?

Id put a turbo on it, a nice strong clutch, gt40 heads, exploder intake, great fuel system, and call it a day! 3:73's are not the ideal ratio out back, but that would not stop me from going turbo. My .02

Ok Pictures of the 90 GT I just bought...

Thats a nice car, Some advice...take it for what it's worth....I would not spend the $$$ to throw a sc on a stock headed 5.0, especially a minimal 6lbs. I've seen it been done many times before and everyone of them gets owned by a well though out h/c/i car. Of course, just an opinion I...

help decide what direction my car should go in

If that was my car, I would address the noisy dash or turn up the radio, fix all the leaks (nothin worse than a leaky car ) basically all the things that annoy you (it would annoy me too). Go get the headlights tweeked so you can see at night (most autoshops or tire alighnment shops can do this...

    On 3 Performance, Turbo Kit

The only bad thing I have heard was complaints about the hot side esp the header flanges cracking over time, and like mentioned above...make sure you get the mild steel kits and for a little more $$$ upgrade to the master power turbo, the entry level chinese version is crappy. Some hard core...

    Lookin for help and advice

8.8 is plenty strong. guy in our club just redid his blower motor with a Dart block...pricey, but that is one strong block. He now has a block that can handle 1400hp, and his internals can handle 1200hp....needless to say he can throw anything he wants at it now, or in the future....peace of...

Anyone with a 3550 have to get their driveshaft shortened?

I have a 3550 with a aluminum ds and it slipped right in. car could have been rear ended in the past, but Id measure the tranny/ds combo when it was installed, then measure the "new setup" see if there's a diff

dyno session, what a reality check lol

all make great points, and you're right...couple of you replied to previous posts and said the same thing...302 parts make 302 power and that makes perfect sense to me. I never pulled the trigger on a h/c/i package I was scoping out this winter and now I am highly considering warming my credit...

dyno session, what a reality check lol

89stang1, I hate the numbers haha, but yea...I have always heard the mustang dyno is the most accurate in measuring RWHP/TQ, dynojets are usually more generous.

dyno session, what a reality check lol

we had a 91 lx with stock block tfs top end kit 302 pull 311 rwhp on the mustang dyno....that's when I freeked out!

dyno session, what a reality check lol

89stang1, the dyno was brutal, a guy with a procharged 4v spun 545rwhp on a dyno jet, yesterday he produced 485rwhp on the mustang dyno...the combo was the same on both dynos. Im not questioning the mustang dyno by any means,

dyno session, what a reality check lol

I need to trim a little off the turndowns for the probe to fit, not a big deal. I know you're right about the gt40 performing better with a port job, but I feel that a ported upper/lower GT40 is still too small for the motor and I plan on doing a H/C/I as I have posted threads pertaining to...

dyno session, what a reality check lol

Bobwb, I was thinking the same thing....at least 325hp? This car has been untouched since 1995, and I know a professional tune would not hurt, but how much could it help. The tuner at the dyno shop quoted me $300-500 for a SCT chipped tune, but would not "guesstimate" on the results due to the...

dyno session, what a reality check lol

the injectors are fine, with 10:1 cr, I've taken myself out of the force induction idea....not worth the money with minimal boost levels as for nitrous, well I have done a few nitrous cars and I don't think I will be spraying this car in the near future. This car is for weekend fun, cruisin...

dyno session, what a reality check lol

well, our mustang club had its spring dyno day yesterday. I am disappointed in my numbers. Cars were ran on a Mustang Dyno which i hear is the most accurate real world rwhp/tq chassis dyno, it was a humbling experience to say the least. 357 w/10:1 Venolia pistons aluminum GT40 heads with...

    91 gt worth it?

It's clean, I'd offer them $7500 cash and walk away. That would be my top dollar, put the ball in their hands and see if they want to sell you a car!
