CAI fabbing idea

Righto. So nix that bit. Makes my job easier. Do you think that nust some 1/4 inch pvc sheet would do, that it would stand up to the heat well? I hear about people using PVC tubing for intakes, so it makes sense to me that it would. Plus, PVC is easy to work with.

    CAI fabbing idea

I had thought that there was a valve that was triggered at the top of that hose that decided routed that hot air off the manifold into the airbox for the first five to ten minutes of running to get the engine up to running temp faster, then it closed and breathed through the snorkel out the...

    CAI fabbing idea

I'm going with plastic because it would be easier to work with, at least with my equipment (IE: None. I have a basic 30 piece wrench set and maybe five other tools) and with plastic, especially if I get PVC sheets, All I need is the fancy glue. Then the only metal working I have to fuss with...

    93 LX

Bingo. That is the question here. That is the most important statement of this entire thread. In your own words. If you'll remember the point of this thread: That is the question that we are all answering right now. What is more cost effective. Dollar for dollar...

    CAI fabbing idea

Allright, I wanted to put a CAI in my stang, but I don't have that much money, and I don't too much like the idea of a filter in my fender wall, because it would be rather hard to get at to replace it (I think), and I want to be different. What I was thinking of doing was keeping the MAF in...

    93 LX

Dude, the thing about the 2.3 turbos is the turbo part of it. That means that you're jamming more air into the engine that would usually fit. A bit of math and physics to think about. Normal atmosphere is at about 14 psi at sea level. We don't feel it because it's all around us. Just a...

    Woohoo! Finally fixed!

Well, the whole trouble that I had for quite a while about my O/D not working, it is finally fixed! Turns out it was my speed sensor that was going nuts, and nothing having to do with my transmission. I should have figured that, with how my cruise control didn't work either. It's...

    what type of motor???

It is? Righto, I was mistaken. I thought I had read somewhere that it was the same block, just with different head, intake and everything else.

    what type of motor???

That's from a 87 or 88 turbocoupe. Same type of 2.3 as the SVO and I believe the same block as your Cobra. I'd say snag it, definately. Though, if I'm not mistaken, with everything that you'd have to do to give it the Volvo swap, it would be no different if you performed the swap on your...

    Transmission Wiring

Couldn't find anything good online, but I was able to get a Haynes manual. its says that plug 52 goes into a "3-4 SHIFT SOLENOID (A/T ONLY)" I'll assume that's exactly where I have a problem?

    v6 muffler swap

Righto, while my mustang was in the shop, they messed it up or something... The exhaust system is really wacked out now. Whenever I go over a bump, the axle rubs on the exhaust pipe. Evidently this was happening with the previous driver because there was already a spot where the pipe was...

    Transmission Wiring

Allright. For the longest time my car had been giving me problems with the overdrive. And it still is. I have, though figured out with relative certainty what's the problem. You see, I took it into a shop last week, and they ended up telling me that it's not the transmission it'self, but...

    MPG-Meter

Righto. Where can I find one of those? And are they difficult to install?

    MPG-Meter

I can easily get my milage for my trip. I do that every time that I gas up. I want to know instant MPG while I'm driving, so I know things like how fast I can go on the highway without compremising my milage, primarily. I usually do around 60 and with my lack of OD (tranny's busted, getting...

    MPG-Meter

I was wondering if anybody has ever installed one of those aftermarket instant MPG meters. Is it at all difficult? Is there a certain type you'd reccomend? I was just thinking that that would be awesome for improving my driving habits to better get good milage.

    3'' MAF

Just go for a K&N They suck air fast enough to please anybody.

    3'' MAF

Please tell me that I misinterprited that. Are you running your engine without an air filter at all?

    gas light

Yeah, the 40 mpg was based off my incorrect assumption of a 13.5 gallon tank. I have no idea where I got that, but I distinctly remember it saying that somewhere, though everything I've looked up recently says 15 gallon. So my bad.
