    64 floor boards

    Pop rivet sheet metal in over the roted metal out to sound good metal. You can then weld for a LITTLE more strength. The rot will only continue and make repairs more expensive later. Also, with a unibody car, it weakens the car too.

    I know this is in no way conclusive, but do the fenders have the holes for GT badging? (Albeit bondo/painted over)... have you torn down the fenders yet? If the fenders have covered up GT holes, that might be your answer.

    one fender down

    Nice... I wish my fenders were salvagable... but they welded metal OVER the bolts into the rockers on the bottom, so they get a bit of damage when getting pulled off. Also, they did a poor job of the welding and bondo... so the rust just makes it not worth it, if still possble.

    You can also try swaping the pass/driver bulbs to see if it is the bulb or not.

    I was going to suggest he takes it to Toyota to get it fixed... they should be pros at it by now. I like the wd40 idea as A TOOL to help find the problem. Spray it and if the problem goes away, you now know where the binding it happening. Is it a fix? Well, only if you ask Toyota!

    Welcome to body work? It has pretty much been said, you has to "convince" it to fit how you want it too. You only other choice is trying to find NOS OEM quaters or a donner car, both will likely be very expensive and still require a little "convincing" to work.

    I just pulled mine off last weekend and I don't remember anything that bad other than a bolt that needed some heating after 45 years. You have everything else off in front of it right? Cause I don't think you could sneak it past the bumper if that is still on.

    No body likes to hear this, but the cheapest way is to save up and buy when you have the money. Yes, you have to wait, but you aren't paying even more either. If you get a second job while you wait, you will be waiting a lot less time. ;)
