    It is the same pan which is the factory one, I am using the factory gauge. The sending unit was working before I took the pan off but for $6 it doesn't hurt changing it. Also, I assume prime the motor with a drill means turn harmonic balancer screw with the drill and socket.

    Thats good to here, I don't plan on pulling the dizzy any time soon. I have a windage tray but I didn't want to wait for itto put my engine back together. So I will probably drop the pan before I take the dizzy out so I can fix the shaft then.

    I just put in a new oil pump with new pump shaft, I might have put the shaft in backwards where the collar on the shaft is closer to the pump. I was wondering is this going to be a problem or should I be okay. The engine is already put back together.

    AOD rebuild advice

    You could install a transgo shift kit for shifts, fairly inexpensive around 50-80 last time I checked. I don't know how much the shop would charge you. You also might want to upgrade to kelvar bands. Mainly they are for higher hp than stock but couldn't hurt to improve reliability.

    I bought a intake elbow from someone on CL and when I was looking at his 88 5.0 he had a carb lower intake manifold with just a straight upper running over to the tb. I was wondering if someone actually makes these parts or was it a custom setup.

    Rebuild, what cam?

    The problem with used cams are sometimes the ware marks are different. As long as you used the same lifters, pushrods, etc.. that were with the cam I would not see a problem. But with other parts the groves may cause you problems.

    Yeah there is a spout connector you disconnect, jrichker as a write up on it and just about everything else on 5.0's :hail2: That is what mine does, sometimes it get annoying so I just crank the radio up, but I love when people turn to see what is coming :D

    I was also debating about getting an electric water pump. I was wondering can you run the pump with the OEM alt. and can you run it without getting an electric fan.
