    74 mustang

The front header panel and the gas cap location are the easy ones to spot. Header on the 74 is about 3" wide 75-78 abot 1.5" wide. The gas cap on the 74 is lower than 75+ also. But even without the title the VIN will tell you what year it is.

Problems encountered while attempting to break-in a new cam

Finally some good news, I got it started today but could only let it run for about 5-6 minutes at 2000-2500 rpm because it started overheating. I had the cap off the radiator to verify flow and before we got it on I lost about 1/2 of the coolant and the temp went to about 210-220 and I shut it...

Problems encountered while attempting to break-in a new cam

So I checked a couple things out. I removed the valve covers and rotated the engine by hand and verified the standard 15426378 firing order and set the timing at 10 degrees on the balancer with the magnetic pickup lined up firing on #1. I also checked my MSD box and coil using the instructions...

Problems encountered while attempting to break-in a new cam

80 GPH is the lowest flow mechanical fuel pump Holley makes. The others are 110, 130, and 170 GPH.

Problems encountered while attempting to break-in a new cam

That's kinda what I'm thinking. Even though I'm pretty sure I've got a bad pump (new Holley 80 GPH pump should be here tomorrow) I thought it would have fired since the fuel bowls were filled and even a little gas shot into the throttle bores as a last ditch attempt. Thanks for the timing...

Problems encountered while attempting to break-in a new cam

I tried starting the Mustang after the winter mods and it won't start. I have gas, 5 gallons added to the recently cleaned and sealed gas tank. Fuel filers are clean and I have spark, I checked by pulling the #1 plug and grounding it to verify spark at the plug. I prefilled the fuel bowls in the...

    74 mustang

The standard Cobra front spoiler might the rear won't without some work. You could put a King Cobra front spoiler and rear wheel spats on it maybe a rear wing from a T-bird.

So do you want EFI to reduce emmisions? Getting it smogged as an EFI is going to cost you.

    74 mustang

You may be able to put on a chin spoiler, not sure with the 74 as is a little different than the 75-78s. Wheels are a challenge but can be done if you measure twice before you cut. You can also put an aftermarket rear wing on it also. What would you like to do to it? This one or...

    Coolent overflow

Just sharing "MY" experience, since the factory tank didn't have a drain like the Canton and I haven't had problems in 2+ years.

    New Steeda Idler Pulleys

The stand alone one works great, the one on the factory tensioner not so well. But does fit great on the one from NAPA and it gave me the opportunity to polish the tensioner.
