    ATI Procharger

the paxton self contained used sealed bearings which were prone to failure. the ATI self contained uses a synthtic oil blend which needs to be changed every 6000miles. i don't mind the engine oil varieties but if i don't have to plumb oil lines so much the better. i am having a hard time...

where can i get the CSU or extreme velocity bonnets? slapper did you use an elctric pump? i'm not sure how powerful a pump i need to get. i was looking at an 18psi aeromotive. i think the 35psi aeromotive would be overkill and it would just be pumping th fuel around in circles?

the only way to get it is to click on the request catalog button and have them mail it to you. i just got the book in the maill today. i called and talked to the tech dept. there and they said it is basically a 86 to 93 5.0L kit but with the carb bonnet. also i have to upgrade my fuel pump...

    Help with camshaft recommendations.

just a quick update. the best answer i have for the wider lobe separation came from crane cams website and it basically says. a tight lobe separation tends to build torque early and peaks at a relatively low rpm. a wide lobe separation stretches the torque and power curve out and builds more...

    GM Alternator in '65

maybe i should read more carefully....DOH. i see it is a 3 wire that you bought. you can get a kit from www.summitracing.com to convert it to a one wire if you desire.

wow this is great info. mrfomoco that sounds like it would be totally trick. one of the reasons i liked the bonnet is becasue i don't want to cover up the awesome looking mighty demon carb that i plan to get for it. i do only plan on running 6 to 8 psi of boost so i think it will work nice...

    GM Alternator in '65

i used a powermaster GM 12SI one wire and you run a short wire from the alt to the pos. battery post. i removed the volt. reg and taped off the harness. it worked fine. however, it sounds like the alt. you have is not a true one wire. or it requires some modification for it to be a one wire...

    tuning vacuum secondaries

what is your base timing and total advance timing set at? these play a critical role in the rpm range you are experienceing trouble in. i have a road demon 625 on my 302. no problems. i changed to a red pump cam 1st step. found that the silver secondary spring works best. have 14 deg intial...

    How accurate is Desktop Dyno2000?

i have desktop dyno and found it to be relatively close. my car made 213hp and 268tq at the rear wheels with no tuning ( i was really rich) and DD said 327hp flywheel with no accessories. factor in some losses for the accessories and drivetrain and the numbers are close.

Best years for the 302 block?

stay away from 73 to 76 these blocks have a higher deck and therefore lower compression. the best 302's are 69-70. and the best 5.0's are 87-89 i believe in 90 they switched from forged pistons to hyperutectic. the absolute best would be the boss 302. mexican blocks are supposed to be the...

i don't think so. The enclosure style is used primarily in marine applications where it is required by coast gaurd regulations. the bonnet has been used for decades in automotive racing applications and with ATI setups making over 1400hp on pump gas i do believe it is quite capable of...

i think that your #2 coice is the best for what you are trying to accomplish. however i have always been a big fan of crane cams and stronly recommend you check out some of their offerings. i have had really good results with their cams. also something to consider is whether you plan to add...

At recent all mustang and ford carshow i was talking with a local rep for ATI about a P1SC for a carbuerted 302 and while he didn't have any carbuerated ford info on hand he did give me a bunch of info on chevys? and directed me to the ATI website where i discovered a kit for a carbuerated...

    help me pick a carb...

definately the road demon. the 625 is good for a stock to mildly built 302. and it will be enough if you decide to do a little more engine work. you will probably need to change the acelerator pump cam and possibly the VS spring. and maybe jet it down a bit but it is worth it. if you don't...

BAAAAD tire rubbing problem on my '66

how are the body gaps between the door and fender? it is possible that you can move the fender forward slightly. check to see if the gaps are the same on both the drivers and passengers sides. sometimes things get moved around a bit during the reasmebly process. i had a similar problem but was...

    32 valve heads

my point is that the whole reason for having a multi valve head is to use variable cam timing so that at low speed there is no torque loss due to the reduced turbulent flow associated with a large valve. and then at high speeds the larger surface area enables higher flow. plus with this...
