    Windage Tray Height

I'm using ARP main cap studs. They are set up with two different theads. One used for the main cap nut, then a smaller thread for the windage tray and those nuts. The tray itself is set between two nuts, so it can be moved up or down at least thats what I thought. But even with it set as low as...

    Windage Tray Height

Is there a set distance a windage tray should be at? Is it possible for it to be to far away from the crank? Is it possible for it to be to close even though its not touching? I'm installing a Canton Racing tray in my 289 with a matching 7 qt. front sump street pan and pick up. I'm just curious...

    Surface Rust on Connecting Rods

Is a little surface rust going to hurt anything? My project block was sitting for a few months waiting for some parts and some of the connecting rods got some rust on them, will this cause any problems? Should I try to clean it off?

    How to Choose Rocker Arms?

I'm pretty sure they are the stock 289 heads. They are the same ones I pulled off of it. If they were changed before I don't know. I'm running Wiseco ProTru pistons they are flat topped with valve cuts.

What is the plug in the bottom of the 289 intake manifold for?

If you look on the bottom of the manifold there is a sheet metal plate with 4 twist rivets holding it in. If you take that off there is a hex head plug under it.

I finished polishing the connecting rods for my 1965 GT with a 289. I was just wondering if any of you experts could tell me if they are done well enough. P.S. Does anyone have some plans to build a connecting rod balancing tool?

    1965 Flywheel Question

I'm rebuilding the 289 from my Mustang and I was ready to buy a flywheel when I noticed that the flywheel it came with has 160 teeth. I'm looking to get something lighter but which should I buy the 157 or 162? Can you just switch if you get a different starter?

    Just Checking my Info (Crankshaft)

The crankshaft out of a 1965 Ford 289, is externally balanced. . .Right? It uses the 28oz harmonic balancer and flywheel. Which means when I order parts I need to order 28oz external balance parts. . . Right? Is there any thing else I should know about this portion or is this good?
