Weird wear marks on roller rockers

I thought maybe it had something to do with them being on twisted wedge heads but I have a suspicion is has more to do with cheap manufacture.

Weird wear marks on roller rockers

I checked that when I put together the engine. Let me see if I can find the original photo for you....

Weird wear marks on roller rockers

Normally yes i think there is, not a whole lot but yes. Its almost like the rocker is twisting or something or the castings are out.

Weird wear patterns on roller rockers

Definitely not socket marks as I used a ring spanner to do them up.

Weird wear patterns on roller rockers

I just popped my rocker covers to try and chase down what I thought might be slightly loose rockers. I had a little play around and it seems like none of them are overly loose. While I was doing that I noticed that I had some unexpected wear patterns in my proform roller rockers. It seems like...

Clunks in the drivetrain after manual conversion

A bit of history - my c4 setup always used to clunk when going from reverse to drive when the drivetrain loaded up. My diff was slowly developing a slight whine on the hwy too. Now I have converted to a manual (tko600) with a new driveshaft, unis, etc, and I am getting a lot of clunks when I...

Clutch preload question with KMC unit

Swapped back to the heavy clutch setup. Looks like I need about 5/8-11/16 of throw to disengage the clutch with no linkage. I am getting a little over 1 1/8 in throw in total. Hopefully I can tweak the bore ratios a little to take this into account. Also working on the idea of using a bell...

Clutch preload question with KMC unit

Yep I've seen it. I am using compeltely different parts due to availability. Using a tilton 75 series 15/16 master with 1.1 in stroke (first mistake) I have tried a 3/4 slave (really heavy clutch actuation, gives quite a lot of stroke) from a local falcon Also tried a 1 1/8 slave from a...

Clutch preload question with KMC unit

Can you tell how desperate I am by how far back I have been searching? Ahh crap I have nowhere near 1.5in. I knew I should have just gone with the jmc kit instead of cobbling it together. I could have paid for it about 50x over by now with wasted time & parts. If anyone else knows for certain...

Clutch preload question with KMC unit

Guys, how much travel do you get at the clutch fork? I am struggling to get a hydraulic setup going and need to know how much travel is needed. Thanks.

King Cobra clutch feels quite heavy

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll have to swap either the slave or the master cylinder

King Cobra clutch feels quite heavy

I just found out that the slave is 3/4 rather than the 15/16 i thought it was. :( . That means if my calcs are right that I've induced 156% extra pedal effort (and slave travel) as compared to a 3/4 & 3/4 setup

King Cobra clutch feels quite heavy

Im in the middle of a tko upgrade and am just testing out the hydraulic clutch setup. Because of the booster and lack of space I have lots a little mechanical advantage at the pedal. I am running a 15/16 tilton 75 series m/c and 3/4 slave cylinder. I find (so far) that the pedal effort is quite...

    G-Machine 66 Stang, "THE CAR"

It also distributes the load through out the unibody to the cage instead of only transferring at a few points where the cage hits the unibody in a more conventional setup
