Bad Knock...Ohhh how much will this cost?

Looking for opinions on what potentially is the problem with my 306 that has maybe 1500 mi. on it. I statrted it up a few days ago to go on a cruise and then it happened, out of the blue, without warning. Knock Knock Knock. It isn't a lifter knock, it is like a VERY solid and rattling KNOCK...

    Rack & Pinion Comparison Matrix

I can tell you that on the TCP you reuse the current column, but you do have to cut it down a little bit. I am running mine with Flowtech Long Tubes without interference. It is expensive, and if you add the KRC pump, which I did, you have really dented your wallet. I don't know of the result...

    Header Question

Though I don't know all the pro & cons, ask yourself this...how many pro-stock cars have you ever seen with Tri y's? Since those guys look for every competitive edge they can get I would say that there has to be some legit reason they choose long tubes over tri y's. However, I think Tri-y's...

    roller rockers help

No. The base of the studs should be the same as what you currently have. It is the upper part of the stud that will measure 3/8" or 7/16" and that is what will determine the roller rocker size you go with. You should be able to order a set of ARP studs, what ever size you want, take your old...

    roller rockers help

I would think the easiest thing to do is swap out the studs to 3/8" or 7/16" Finding 5/16" as you stated will probably prove difficult, and if you do find them, their such an odd size that they'll probably cost a bit more due to low production quantities. My .02

    Battery Relo. ?

I've been reading up on a battery relo. install. What I haven't gathered is what do you do with the two leads that plug into the little terminal posts on the front of the solonoid? Where do they get routed to? Also, can someone elaborate on the late model starter install to eliminate the...

    RF Wiring Kit

Thinking of ordering a Ron Francis wiring kit. They are actually on sale right now for $350 for everything. ANyone ever seen or know someone using his kit. Their customer service seems to be outstanding and it looks good quality. Seems to be a favorite of the Street Roders. He has a classic...

    New Dyno #'s are in.

For what it is worth, the guys running the dyno told me it is closer to 29% for auto's and 18 for manual. Personally, I don't know. My Tq Converter is a 2400 and gears are 3:55 with a powertrax locker. The 289 pulled 217 on the same dyno with the AFR's and other mods. So picking up the other...

    New Dyno #'s are in.

OK, I have a few miles on the new 306, so I took it to the dyno on Sat. I knew it was stronger than the 289 but how much I wasn't sure. So after some carb jetting and timing adjustments she put down 265 RWHP and 270 RWTQ. I was hoping for 300 RWHP, but behind the C-4 just a little too much...

    MSD 6 Box

Anyone running the MSD 6, 7 or 8 tell me where you tapped into to get your switched 12v source. Did you stay under the hood or run into the interior to splice in? Thanks.

How to port a set of 93 5.0 heads?

Do your homework. As I understand it you do not want to port match the exhaust side. Reason being that the pressure waves can more easily travel back into the exhaust port if the "lip" is ported away. You could end up doing more harm than good. Look into it and talk to some guys that do...

    Transmission Advice

I think your "best" bet would be to go with a TCI tranny. You really can't beat it for the price. Depending on how much power your putting down, you could get a fresh tranny from them for around 700 and that is with warranty. I went with a street fighter and it is now behind my 306 which is...

    NOS Top Shot

Just looking at it I was kinda thinking the same thing, but I don't know a great deal about NOS. Wasn't sure if the sheer force of the psi from the system would force feed it and make a difference.
