    Aod problem maybe?

    At first glance if your more sure its a transmission than motor problem the TC could be very likely. Your fluid level/color/smell seem to be ok?

    Tick on #4 and fouled plug

    Well I'm assuming somehow one of my new lifters is gummed up or something, if I let the car sit at an idle for a bit there is no tick until you run the RPM up and then if you let it idle a bit more it goes away. The harder you stab the throttle and quicker you bring up the RPM the louder it ticks.

    Ah sorry for the confusion, I wasn't saying you were wrong or anything but when you said "In 4th gear your tranny is at 1:1 with a T-5 OR an AOD" it threw me off.

    +1 on that ... most of those eliminator kits are made so cheaply they smoke a bearing w/in the first month of running and then you just have a noisy pain in the ass to deal with. (if your lucky and it doesn't totally lock up that is)

    I am having the same problem at the moment with my car, not to hi-jack the thread or anything but can an exhaust leak at the header flange cause it to run rich? (I'm thinking this is my problem)

    I had a set of proform rockers which are close to the same iirc like 1of1 said with the oil baffle out they fit, altho I could never get them to not tick like a mofo (yes I know proform is JUNK) :)

    the rear isolators are the rubber piece between the spring and the frame that absorbs some vibrations and gets rid of any metal to metal noises. **beware goin to low tho ... genius previous owner of mine had a set of megabite control arms put on and set in the drag setting which dropped it 2"...

    the miss from hell

    Does it start cutting out right away when you get to cruising speed or does it cruise fine for a few minutes then start cutting out? ... if its the latter than maybe the TFI is acting up when it gets hot? just shootin in the dark here.

    Its nice to have caster-camber plates and the tie rod ends that help with bump steer for sure when you lower your ride. I am just runnin a set of the ford racing springs, not much drop but the lower control arms I picked up drop the rear 1" or 2" and it sits plenty low for my tastes :)

    AOD Failure Possibilities

    Unless you are going to do more track than highway use I'd stick with the 3.73s I have 4.10s with my AOD atm and its a bit much on the interstate goin 75. As for the shift kit I'd go for it and have been extremely happy with my transgo reprogramming kit .. It shifts pretty soft under light...

    EGR Valve problems

    Not very hard to delete the egr system either, I did with mine after a fresh rebuild cause I'd rather not crud up my new clean motor to save the environment :) (definitely not a choice if you live in a state with emissions laws)

    Junkyard parts question

    Most local part stores carry helicoil kits I know advanced auto does for sure cause thats where I grabbed mine from. they tell you exactly what size drill bit to use and usually come with the right size tap.

    I'd say definitely go for it, with more HP you can goto a lesser gear ratio and it will do nothing but benefit you .. I'm assuming the people telling you it will kill your car have weak motors and can only spin the tires with 4.10s :D
