The rack was installed by a local shop about 3 months ago. I hope they bled it and am not sure what type of fluid they used. Sounds like we ought to swap the fluid and bleed it (using Mercon).
Did you see my sig? Not only those Mustangs, but I also had a 1973 Mach 1 as my first car at 16 years old back in 1982. I do know Ford PS is whiny, but, as mentioned, I think what we have in this fox is excessive.
Since the effort to install a TOB is nearly as much as installing a whole new clutch/PP and all, you should go ahead and just replace all of it, especially if it's still stock. And just go with a stock replacement...unless you have big plans.
Actually I thought you paid too much too, but KBB does show that price is spot on. Good buy - and there is nothing like picking up a virgin Mustang like this in such great shape.
I'm really saddened to hear your dilemma. This just isn't right. Did you buy it from the dealership that has been trying to fix it? If so, you have leverage.
