Thats why some valves are machined towards the bottom of the stem (at the valve) for increased flow. 1.94 in 1.6 ex are the biggest you can run on windsors.
So heres the piston and my rod. For clarification I guess. Could reliefs be cut into the piston for clearance? I would be running 1.94 intake and 1.6 ex on windsors. Not sure on cam, .5-.65 lift. As you can see the pistons have been run, and to my knowledge it was with these rods in a ford block...
I am trying to run boss rods, windsor heads, mexican block. block doesnt matter,m but this was the dudes setup along time ago. i am not piecing anything together, just trying to figure out what i have :). I am gunna talk to my machinist.
My 390 heads came off cuz i was loosing oil. All the valves were way loose in the guides and the seats were sunk. Still ran, and i am surprised cuz i beat the piss out of it.
well here is the piston. http://kb-silvolite.com/performance.php?action=details&P_id=54 Its a freakin 350 chevy piston. bore and pin are correct, now how the hell do I figure in my boss 302 rod instead of the 5.7 inch rod length of that 350. Could this piston still work with my boss rods? Comp...
Nope, and thats with a spool. Low speed corners with a detroit may require you to do a little heel toeing to keep the locker engaged. You dont want it to lock / unlock because it could send ya sideways. Just have to experiment a bit.
The pistons have grooves like for c- clips. I miced the rod and it was .925ish so I assume that its the larger wrist pin, why dont they fit? Do I need to heat the rods some? Or are they press fit pins? Anyway to tell if the pistons are forged?
I am planning on using Boss 302 rods w/ the football style rod bolts. I have a set of Keithblack pistons with a pretty large pop up. First off the number on these rods are C3AE D. They accept a .927 wristpin which is the full floating pin. How tight are these supposed to be? Will I need to...
No road race only. My trucks are lincoln locked as well, nothing like those iroks chirppin around hehe. When driving you really dont even feel the spool unless you slow way down for a tight corner. High speed stuff, its not even there.
Yeah that could defintely be it. I had a bad backfire on my 390, i wasnt pulling fuel so I tired to pour a little gas down the carb. It didnt backfire until i open the plates to let air in then ka boom. I couldnt hear for like 10 seconds and it blew my valve cover gromet 25 feet away!
Dont say anything until you have driven it. Its not bad at all, I prefer spools in most everything, then again my tires may not but its all good. New tires arent a bad thing :)
Well I figured I would probly just open trrack my car. I think .188 is fairly overkill, but then again I was just doing my main hoop and a pillar in that. I cannot go crmo because I have no experience with the tig. I might as well check into nasa spec and set it up for that. I know I am going to...
So after this accident I got in I am gonna build a cage for my 66' coupe. I am going to start with a main hoop using 1.5" .188 wall 1026 DOM and use that as well for the a pillar. I will have a harness bar and an x from the top corners to bottom corners. Next I am going to have some sort of door...
