Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

That's the thing though, the cam card has no mention of what the numbers are at that lift. The only numbers it shows is the duration at .006, the duration at .050, and the stuff that I previously mentioned. So how do I degree it to what is the "ideal" degree for the cam?

    Throttle body removal

To remove the tb, you need to unclip the connection to the tps, the throttle cable, the breather to the valve cover, the four nuts that are tightened to the studs on the intake, and I believe that's it. You should not have to remove the egr coolant lines unless you plan on cleaning the egr plate...

Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

Mike, wow man, thanks for all of the info. I was just playing with numbers since I was bored, but I had the feeling it wasn't going to work that way. The lift numbers I gave you are with the 1.7's calculated in. According to comp, the cam is technically designed to work with the 1.7's. With the...

Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

I am just trying to figure out whether I am understanding some of these numbers correctly. This is something it says: Valve timing at .006: open/close int 27 BTDC 63 ABDC exh 74 BBDC 22 ATDC The cam has 270/276 degrees of duration to it, and it has .544" lift. So doing some...

5.0 COBRA OWNERS and ANYONE else that knows their S***

I know for a fact that the cobra motor came with a 70mm mass air meter, 24lb injectors, and a separate cobra computer. If you look at the injector tips, they should be blue. Brothers Performance sells a package deal for it. http://www.brothersperformance.com/shop/mustang/fmm9000c52.html As...

    Need Help Removing Old Driveshaft!!!!

I just used a ton of force on it. I got the longest wrench I could for leverage, and pulled on it like all hell. I almost busted a nut doing it too, lol, it sucked. I agree with Mike on this one though. It is definitely a better idea to not use a ton of force on the bolts if you don't have...

What was it like when you raced for the first time?

No need for even a 3 second burnout. Just go around the burnout box and spin them real quick, no more then 1-2 seconds to clean them off a bit. First time I went, I was real nervous as usual. Nervous all the way until the light turned green. I hesitated a bit, but then it was a blast. Of...

    Equal Length headers

Just one thing you need to remember though, those tests is 5.0 Mustang is for a 347 stroker, not a stock 5.0. So you may have different results from what was stated in the article itself.

Whats the deal...my car revs straight to 6250!!

I have hit 6250 a number of times. Mostly by accident, but oh well. I hit it a few times while spinning around in a parking lot, and its not very hard for me to hit it in 1st or 2nd gear either.

    valve spring removal

What kind of valve spring compressor do you have? I tried using one a shop I used to work at had, but it didn't work for crap. It was a little one that grabbed onto the valve spring itself, and compressed it up towards the keepers. I couldn't get the locks to budge at all. My friend had a...

Modded 5.0 Vs. Stock 00 GT

stock heads? ever run at the track? I would say it would be a good run, but I would put my money on you if anything. I never raced a new GT, but from peoples times here on stangnet, they seem to be able to run high 13's stock I think. If you have traction, you should definitely take him...

Adjustment/noise making question about rear drums

Yeah, I checked the bolts resently because I thought that could have been a problem. I think I will check again tomorrow. I don't think that is it though, because it only happens when I let off the brakes, doesn't matter what speed. Any more suggestions?
