Need help finding a performance 10" clutch for the II

Oops, I just re-read your second post a little more carefully and noticed you already listed the RAM clutch.

Need help finding a performance 10" clutch for the II

I was just looking into this recently since I'll be needing a new clutch soon too. Another option for you is a RAM #98501. This is their Powergrip clutch which offers more holding power. They also offer #88501 which is an OEM replacement. It looks like #98501 is in stock at Summit. Hopefully...

OK, who's going to Mustangs Northwest Roundup?

I've got my new motor installed & will be starting it up this weekend. As long as there are no problems I'll be driving the car down to the show on July 17.

    Engine rebuild pics

What you're saying makes sense...decking the block would have been good insurance against a leaky head gasket. But on a previous 302 rebuild I didn't deck the block or mill the heads & everything was fine. On this one the block surface is no worse, I've got better head gaskets and head bolts...

    Engine rebuild pics

I should add that this project was intended to be a basic rebuild, not an all out race motor. But I ended up adding a few parts here and there that were maybe overkill for a "basic" rebuild. Things like ARP main studs and the roller rockers. For my goals I just didn't see a need for decking the...

    Engine rebuild pics

Yes, the block is a 78. It's the original motor and had never been rebuilt before. I found it interesting looking at the different casting numbers used throughout. Rods were D0xx castings, pistons D9xx, block D8VE, and the crank I don't remember. The D9 pistons surprised me since the car is a...

    Engine rebuild pics

I've been collecting parts for about 2 years for the day I would rebuild the engine in my car. I finally started on the project a few weeks ago. At first I took a bunch of pictures to help me figure out how everything goes back together. Then I started taking pictures of the re-assembly. Figured...

    Missing Persons....

I was going to ask the same thing. Are you bringing one of your II's to Roundup? I'm pretty sure I'll be there this year. Good to see you're still around.

    Source for replacement upolstery

I recently had my driver's seat re-done (standard black vinyl). I had a seat upholstery kit that I was going to get the upholstery guy to install, but he talked me out of using it. Instead he recovered the seat using his own material. The quality was better than the pre-made kit and it matches...

    Gates

No problem. BTW, these part numbers aren't just for power steering. There's also rad hoses, V-belts, rack & pinion repair kits and some other miscellaneous stuff.

    Gates

I called the auto parts store for a power steering pressure hose today. The guy looks in his catalog then says "Huh, that's weird, Gates doesn't have any listing for 74-78 Mustangs. Sorry, I can't help you." So I checked the Gates website and they do show part numbers for the MII. I called the...

No worries LXXVICOBRA. Some of you guys may remember the smogless King Cobra I was referring to. The owner used to have the "King Cobra Online" webpage a few years back, complete with disco music on the front page. He restored his navy blue KC to concourse condition, and he swore it had no...

The external tubing feeding into the exhaust manifolds was an earlier design before the heads were designed for air injection. Starting in 75 the 302 heads had internal air injection ports. So if your II is supposed to have a smog system, it would have the tubing feeding air into the back of...

The smog pump is a bit of a mystery to me too. My King Cobra is a Canadian model and it had the smog pump. But I met a guy a few years back with another Canadian King Cobra with no smog pump (from the factory). My car is a 4 speed with no AC and his was auto with AC, if that makes a difference...

I got my MII running today!

That cam has quite a lope to it does it? I'm putting an XE262H in my new motor soon. Hoping for a bit of lope but not too rough. What's the rest of your setup like? I'd love to hear a clip of that camshaft if you have a chance.

    Engine swap info. needed

Good info but I'm not sure when the Hooker Super Comps became C4 only? I have a set (not installed yet) and the installation instructions only say they won't fit with a column shifter. I also remember a351must2 installing them on his Mach 1 / T5 / MII bellhousing with no problems. With a fox...

if you need them....here they are

That's a great idea. I was thinking of designing rebuildable engine mounts but your idea sounds a lot simpler.

if you need them....here they are

I've been toying with the idea of fabricating replacement mounts for quite a while now, just haven't gotten around to doing it. Now there's a guy on mustangii.net who says he is working on something. I think it's just a matter of time before these get reproduced.
