    Keep Stang or Corvette?

I agree with the comments about it really depending on what you want. The vette is a different type of car (sports vs. pony car), including all the steroetypical tradeoffs. Stock for stock, a vette will handle worlds better, and it does have that LS1 engine. For me, I have 2 little kids who...

    Roller Rockers

The lifters, not the pushrods, need to be primed when you set the rockers. If not you may end up with your valvetrain too tight (or possibly too loose). Since you have run it, your lifters are now primed. You may want to consider pulling the valve covers and resetting the rockers.

    No compression

Just curious, why go back to stock? Did you ever get the bugs out and dial in the tune?

    Roller Rockers

You sure you got them adjusted in good, and locked the lock screw? If so, you should be fine. But if the lifters weren't primed when you set the lash on the pushrods, that might cause your problem. First look for easy stuff (exhaust leak, really loose rockers, etc.). If you find nothing...

    Beginner Questions

With a budget that big, and all the work you are lookin to do yourself, just remember you could end up dropping a big bunch of cash on tools (if you don't already have a pretty complete list of mechanic's tools). Also, if I had a budget like that, I'd get a built crate motor from CHP. And if...

    Lawyers in here!

My advice, move. I hate PA cops. It might be worth it to challenge the ticket. With any luck the cop wont show and you might get it dismissed. Just be respectful, and tell your story. Don't admit to doing anything wrong. Just say what you were doing and how you can see how it might have...

    new engine

Just to be clear, are you gunning for 300 at the rear wheels (what most here talk about) or at the flywheel (what the manufacturer's advertise)? 300 at the flywheel is no problem at all. 300 at the rear wheels requires HCI and full supporting mods plus some, or a KB or turbo.

need help!!!! broken lower intake bolt

Check me if I wrong Sandy but . . . the lower intake bolts into the block, not the heads. Do as others suggested. Pull the lower off. Most likely you will get lucky and be able to back the bolt out with needle nose pliers or vice grips. Since the bolt failed when you were torquing it (not...

    Beginner Questions

Well, take me for example. I have pretty close to the mods you are talking about (see sig). I think the only differences might be my LT headers (dont remember if you mentioned those) and a PMS with AFM dynotune. All that brought me 284 rwhp. To be honest I expected to be bumping right up...

Does the intake that you use with the Flowzilla match the AFR heads?

    Beginner Questions

A top end kit will be fine on a stock block/tranny as far a wear. That will not be an issue. If the tranny is already going, the aluminum heads and cam won't make a difference in their going. Take a look into doing the track heat intake, instead of the street heat.

    Enjoy'n the 5.0

*****en buzz kill man. You try the pully puller tool to get that pulley out da way. Then you can get the bracket off no problem. With any luck, you'll be where I am soon. And solice yourself with the fact that I have gone through multiple nights like your's to get and keep mine running...

H/C/I + SCT Tune = Dyno Sheet Inside!! How do the numbers look?

Turns out, one of my spark plugs was about 2 turns loose on my dyno pull. Dont' know if that made a difference, but I tell myself it did, and I'm really running lit 10 or 15 more at the rear wheels. Who knows.

    Enjoy'n the 5.0

It's getting hot 'round here. Prolly like most places this time of year. So I took the 'vert out for a short spin. After tightening one of the header bolts (came a couple turns loose). Anyway, with the top down and the motor purring and pulling hard, I'm in heaven. Just thought I'd share...

H/C/I + SCT Tune = Dyno Sheet Inside!! How do the numbers look?

I think that's pretty comparable to my numbers. And my mods are not too far off your's. Mods in sig.

looking for a set of SAFE wheel spacers?

If you have wheels with stock backspacing and 255 tires, you should be fine with 1 inch spacers (or 1 and 3/16 like I have). 3/4 might be too little. But just measure it to be sure (see my comment above). And YES, some wheels will not work with spacers, expecially the 1 inch spacers. You...

looking for a set of SAFE wheel spacers?

Buy a name brand, like H&R or Eibach. Or go to a quality retailer like MM. At one inch or more (maybe on the 3/4 too) you will find spacers have their own lugs. That's because you can only use a spacer so deep before you end up leaving too few threads for the lugnuts to hold. Plenty of...
