    5.0 Question

So my question is is this an HO motor? It has the 351 firing order but I still am not sure. Also can the internals of this engine be put in the crown Vic block?

    5.0 Question

Here were the only discernable stampings on it. I remember when I bought it the guy said it was a truck motor but I really don't know. These numbers say what appears to be E7TE. Here's a pic attached. These appeared to be stamped on the block near the starter where the cast numbers usually...

    5.0 Question

I don't want to tear down the '85 motor just yet until I have everyhting for my EFI swap. I do want to use the block from the crown vic though as a base for everything else. Right now the '85 is carb'd and in my '66 mustang. It's a real strong puller but that crack gets me worried. If the...

    5.0 Question

Ok so here's the deal. I'm normally over in the classic section but this question pertains to the 5.0L blocks so I figured I'd put it in here. My current sitaution is that I have 2 engines (complete). One is out of a 1990 Ford crown vic (5.0L) and the other is from a 1986 Mustang (5.0L)...

    Slow Cranking

This sounds to me like heat soak. You can buy those sleeves for over your starter but if I were you I would remove the header and use some header wrap around the area near the starter. That's what I did to protect my cable clutch from melting.

    Opinions on rear quarter trim

So I'm about to paint my car midnight blue but before I do I'm completing all the body work and filling in various holes left by the rocker trim. I'm undecided though if I want to keep the rear quarter trim or remove it. Here's a couple pics. What do you guys think? Keep the trim or get rid...

    65 Automatic shifter

I've got one if you want to buy it. I converted from an auto to 5 spd manual. I've got the shifter unit as well as the faceplate. It needs some cleaning but it's all there. PM me if you're interested.

Restomod Wiring: Painless Vs American autowire

I did the Painless kit in my '66. I have no electrical background whatsoever and it was as the name implies to install... Painless. That's my recommendation at least.

    C4 Question

$550 Is what I'm asking for it. It was rebuilt in 2004 and driven for approx. 250 miles before I took the car apart for restoration. I've since switched to a T-5 and have no use for the automatic. The C4 is out of a 67 Mustang and has a Trans-Go shift kit. I'll sell the trans with the torque...

    MSD8598 distributor users

Agree with woodsnake. I have the duraspark dizzy with an MSD 5520 ignition and an MSD blaster 2 coil. The whole setup cost around what you want to pay for just the distributor. Seems like a no brainer for me and you get a digital ignition.

    MSD8598 distributor users

I say don't waste your money on the MSD unit. A Ford Duraspark will perform just as well if not better and for like 1/3 the price.

    Wheel PS thoughts

I think it will look pretty sweet blacked out, but then again I'm a fan of the blacked out sleeper look. Plus those rims aren't black. They're more of a dark charcoal which will look awesome on your ride. I say go for it and do what makes you happy!

    Hood clearance?

It's gonna be close. Worst case scenario just get a set of RMP lowering engine mounts. They're great quality and will help with any clearance issues.

Non EFI 5.0HO in my 65

That sounds like a solid setup and is close to what I have in my '66. for the intake I suggest a Weiand Stealth. It has an awesome powerband and doesn't look out of place under the hood.

Welp, new to me wheels are on (pics)

Looks really good. I would seriously get yourself an export brace and possibly a monte-carlo bar. The front of these cars needs all the stiffening you can get. You don't want those shock towers to sag.
