    lots of rear end noise

You can unbolt each end of the control arms and drop it down to check the bushings. Or remove the whole arm. The upper arms you'll probably have to pull out to get a good look at them. And don't forget about the bushings in the rear end for the upper arms.

    lots of rear end noise

Check your control arms. The bushings might be worn out. Or the sway bar can be loose as well.

    For those with IAC modifications

It stops the hanging idle that the 4.6's have. The rpms will drop faster. I have the plate in mine and there is no difference between cold and warmed up.

    must be no tech here

I'd go with replacing the thermostat. However, unless you have aftermarket gauges, you're just guessing at the temps.

I thought our stangs had T-lock

You can also rebuild the t-loc in your car. Some people do that and add a couple extra clutch pads and heavier springs to make it more durable.

    Optima battery swap

If you let it play for a long time without the engine running you might want to look into the yellow top. They're designed for being discharged over a long period of time. If you're having problems while driving, it's not the battery, it's the alternator. I have a 400 watt MTX amp pushing an...

I thought our stangs had T-lock

Your car should have t-lock. They do wear out however. How many miles are on your car and how hard do you drive it? The t-lock might need to be rebuilt.

    Optima battery swap

It came on the battery when I bought it. It wasn't special ordered or anything. If I remember correctly it was in the protective peice that is snapped over the top. You have to pop it out of that.

    PI vs Bullitt

I don't think I would pass smog with a P-51 though. Granted, I may not with Bullitt either.

    Optima battery swap

Get the red top. I have one in my car and it works with no problem. And with the amount of abuse I've put it through without problems amazes me. Anyway, the one I bought came with a piece that it could snap into. This piece made it possible to use the stock hold down.

    PI vs Bullitt

I was wondering if there would be any power to gain with using a Bullitt intake over a PI intake when I swap my heads. I know for a stock N/A car there isn't much power to be gained, however, I'll be putting on a set of stage 2 heads from Steen and a pair of stage 2 cams from VT. Since I'll have...

Why is the '98 GT a bastard

That's exactly the problem. But like what was said, either buy a set of hangers from a 96-97 or have a new mount welded onto the tailpipe. It's just a piece of bent metal bar anyway. I would imagine a set of hangers from the 94-95's would work as well.

    frpp gears..

Part of it will depend on how many miles you have. The kit I bought came with shims and the pinion nut. If it's low miles, you might not need anything else. If there's some miles on it, might as well replace everything while you're in there.

    JMC clutch Hyro clutch question

It sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging all the way. Either the system still has air in it or you need to adjust the slave cylinder some more.

    How do I mellow it?

You said the new ignition parts have 0 miles on them. But if they've been sitting in Tampa they're still going to deteriorate. Especially the wires. Maybe you should pop the hood at night and see if there's a light show. Sometimes it'll be enough to cause it to lope at idle, but clear up at...

Looking for a "how-to" or install tips for firewall adjuster!!

Go to Steeda's website and look under drivetrain. There's a write in there on how the firewall adjuster works. I tried to link it, but it didn't want to come through.
