Options in trading or selling my '08 GT

You'll be negative on a trade with your 08. Also remember if you do plan on financing a 03-04 model car, you won't get a very low finance rate based upon it's age. A credit union will be your best bet, but with the way times are, they might be reluctant to give you 60-72 month financing on a...

Are tail light blackout covers illegal?

In CA, there is a limit of how dark they can be. There is a certain distance that the night time running lights have to be visible. Check your state's vehicle code.

    Cold air intake w/o tune

06bluegt, glad to hear you like your new intake. 25hp is a lot with just an intake/no tune though. Stock intakes are engineered to reduce intake noise, maybe that is what you think the extra pull is. Get is dynoed and you'll see S&B is fibbing a bit. My mpg at 60 stock 31mpg. With boomtube...

    S197 vs previous year models?

I had an 01 GT vert with C&L intake + plenum, 85MAF, 75mm TB, and bassani catback. My stock (with MAC boomtubes) 08 is faster, pulls a lot harder, and is smoother. The 2v felt like it was it was going to break something when revving at 5200rpm, where the 3v is smooth as silk to redline. The...

    05 electrical issues

As Bigcat says. My needles do the same. To reset your windows, hold the button down to lower and hold for 3-5 seconds till you hear a click, and do the same with going up.

    Launch opinions

So I've got an o8 Gt with the 5speed man, 3.31's, stock suspension and tires. For a 0-60 or 1/4 run, is it better to feather the clutch out of the hole, then floor 1st? Have the RPM at 2K, dump then floor 1st? I always chirp 2nd and 3rd. From all the vid's I've seen with you guys, I don't...

    2005 - 2009 GT Mufflers

I think there is an OEM take off sponser link on here. $50.00 for the pair.

Just Picture it... The Nose Job on Vista Blue

I voted CDC classic chin, no paint. Wouldn't want to deal with repainting if you might scrape on driveways, speed bumps, and those cement blocks in parking spaces. Second vote would be option 2 but, there seems to be a little gap that doesn't follow the stock GT front end flush. It looks good...

    Fuel Injectors?

I'd assume it would be the same as upgrading the stock to larger TB in terms of gains. Your stock injectors are up to the task with your tune. Your CAI isn't an overwhelming amount of air like a supercharger would be.

    Annoying Squeek

Whenever I bring my car in for a squeak or rattle, my service advisor tells me I need to turn down my "spider sense." I used to work at a Ford dealer and I've learned that they'll need 2 days to find a rattle or squeak; day and night road tests. Good luck, I'm dealing with the IUP cluster...

    k&n intake

When I put a CAI on my 01 GT, I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes to let the computer "learn" the new flow-no problems. I don't know if the 05+ CPU works like this because it is so sensitive. All lines connected? Possible excess oil from K&n filter messing with the MAF? Sorry I can't...

    Octane Boost

I didn't think our engines were e85 capable. When I was younger, I dumped the octane booster in my car thinking I was getting "race gas." I don't know how they harm but I'm guessing they're concentrated with a bunch of crap that will either end up in your fuel filter or clog up some lines like...

    Clunk sound from rear?

So does it sound more like a driveline clunk or a suspension clunk? At slow speeds like 5-10mph, when its cold, I hear a clunk from the rear mostly when I drive over the lane separater's (raised relfectors). I only hear it at night/or when it's cold outside. It's always unable to duplicate...

what do you wash with besides lambs wool?

I'm pretty sure NastyStang has a good thread on car care; he details high end cars for a living. I just take mine to a self serve car wash, wet it, use my own $5.00 wishbone sponge, wash it off with the "spot free" water, then dry it with the Absorber chamois. My car is garaged at home and...

For those of you with oversized wheels

Darien87, those wheels are fantastic. To the OP, my only concern upgrading to a non OEM wheel is replacement. If you do decide to go aftermarket, keep in mind some wheel designs become discontinued after a short time on the market meaning if you need a replacement, you're out of luck and have...

    Hello

I like it. Great 1/4 times! With street tires, how's traction in 1st? Thinking of going the tune, intake, 4.10 route, but still want a useable 1st gear. This is on stock suspension.

    2010 camaro 1/4mile..

The Challenger, GTO, 350Z/370Z, Genesis, and Camaro was/were/is supposed to kill Mustang sales. Some may be faster or handle a little better but none "destroy" the Mustang in any performance catagory. The following are just MY opinions as to why the Mustang will not be outsold...

    I really like my Stang!!

GreyDiesel, +1. It's a car that will give good MPG is you're easy on it (29-31 mpg highway 60-65mph). If you drive it easy, it's just as doscile as an econ car, but gives you a warm/happy/nervous feeling when you really get on it. Repair and maintenance is on par with any other vehicle...

    Bang for buck. Long read

Thanks for the input. Do you fellas with a tune feel the difference I'm talking about when it's daytime/nightime?
