So California
So I've got an o8 Gt with the 5speed man, 3.31's, stock suspension and tires. For a 0-60 or 1/4 run, is it better to feather the clutch out of the hole, then floor 1st? Have the RPM at 2K, dump then floor 1st? I always chirp 2nd and 3rd. From all the vid's I've seen with you guys, I don't see this chirp assuming it slows you a little. Also, this is with the stock tire pressure (won't take it to the track, too far from home). I wanted to upgrade to 3.73 or 4.10 but already the 3.31's spin enough for me.
Would a strut tower brace help my handling with no other suspension mods? If I take an aggressive turn, the car holds pretty good but I end up swaying to the left or right. Is the $150.00 brace going to help by itself? Worth the money?

The launch rpms vary from car to car depending on setup. There's more than one way to launch. Its just something u have to practice and find the sweet spot for your car. Also for the most part your tires will spin whether you have 3.31s or 4.10s. Gears are meant to help with acceleration through the gears higher gears won't really" spin less" if your launching hard. And as for the body roll, a strut tower brace is meant to prevent the body twisting motion and keep torque from going side to side. not really meant to stop body roll.

I was told by a fellow drag racer, "if your spinning nothing is breaking". Tires play a big part of tire spin.Try a pair of drag radial just for the track. If you can hook up with some sticky tires you'd get some better launch times at the 60ft. mark.

I tried running a pro-street car I built a few years back when it hooks up its like having a better clutch that doesn't slip. This car scared the living bejesus out of me,sold it :D
