Thanks for the Input thus Far! Ladies and gentlemen, I knew I could count on this cohort for honesty and great ideas. I appreciate all the feedback thus far and since we're still forming partnerships with suppliers, nothing's out of the question, yet. As for the styling, you can...

Dale Jarrett Mustang Concept Feeback Requested

Dale Jarrett Mustang Concept Feedback Requested I am partners in a venture to offer a new performance-oriented Mustang to the buying public. We have secured licensing and capital to create the concept cars and anticipate having them ready for demonstration in the spring. I realize there is...

Which aluminum radiator do you suggest.

I bought one via ebay that was manufactured here in the US and is holding up great. I was truly surprised with the quality when it arrived. I thought that for the price, if it looked like junk, I'd just ship it back at my expense, take my lumps and find a different one. Well, it fit in my...

    My light's don't work?

Do neither the high nor the low beams work? Use your MF switch to check the "flash to pass" high beam control and the standard high beam position in addition to your standard low beam position. If it works in any of these positions, please post.

Trying my luck here...Hot starting woes...

You presumably had your coil tested when cool and off of the car. Unfortunately, it's difficult to check the coil when hot and on the car, unless you have the resistance specs handy and are OK with jumping out and checking it when hot. But, this may be what you need to do. I have experienced...

    Rockers in the X-heads???

So am I right to presume that my B cam in X heads would yield an even greater p to v clearance than your E cam in Y heads (presuming all manufacturing tolerances are in spec.)? That's how it reads to me.

    Help, Am i screwed?

How about a mechanical snake with some sticky "elephant snot" or on it? You might get lucky.

    Rockers in the X-heads???

The spec sheet for this motor (I've got one in my '85) states "standard rocker arms" are utilized. I believe the standard ratio is 1.6. I don't know if there would be clearance issues if you move to the 1.7 rockers. I'm curious about the potential improvement myself, so if you go through with...

    Need some opinions/help with struts

You don't even have to jack the car up if all you're doing is replacing the strutw. It makes it easier, but it's not necessary. And, as stated above, if you aren't replacing the springs, or messing with a coil-over system, you don't need the spring compressor or any other special tools. A...

k, maybe some of you can help me figure this out..........

I recently experienced the same problem with my 1985 Mustang. The culprit turned out to be the coil. If you bypass your ignition box and use your distributor signal to trigger your coil directly, and the problem persists (but will be even worse across the entire rpm spectrum), then it's the...

    Mach1 Cams in a 01 Cobra

Bump. I believe there may also be some differences in the heads between our cars and the Machs, but not certain. I'm also curious to know if anyone else has any information on this subject, though.

Distributor Pick-Up Coil...How do I get this thing out?

First, what type of distributor is it? Is it a TFI model? Regardless, there should be a couple of screws holding down the pickup and that should do it. However, if it's a vacuum advance car (carbed), you'll need to remove the vacuum advance arm, also. Once you get that (them) out, a couple...

Anyone Running Crane Electronic Street / Strip Distributor?

Very encouraging news! Thanks for the feedback. I've got an Accel 300+ ignition on the car and I've been very impressed with it and the Accel distributor, but I've been having a hellacious time sorting through spring combos, various vacuum cans, and the associated adjustments. Just when I...

    5.0 ford racing crate engine

I've got the xb303 engine in my '85 for now. It's a he[[ of an improvement over the stocker. I am VERY happy with it thus far. I've put about 3K on it and it's really starting to pull hard. The thing fired right up on the first turn and it has been very easy to tune. It was DEFINITELY worth...

Anyone Running Crane Electronic Street / Strip Distributor?

I have read a bunch of great things about these distributors, and ordered one today for my '85 GT-40X car, but wanted to know what luck others had experienced, if any. If it's not worth it, I'll send it back before I crack the package. Thanks.

Any 1985 Twister II's Out There?

Coaster Pix Posted Check out the link in my original post. I've added 4 pictures of the coaster to the page. On the back it says: The Enterprise Collection LTD. 816-331-9112 HAND CRAFTED IN U.S.A. They may still have the script lying around somewhere if you contact them.

    01 wheel hop

I went with the poly differential bushings from Steeda and the #4 IRS brace from FMS. It took me about 1.5 hours to get everything in and tightened up. I did it in my driveway with no problems. Alignment of everything was the biggest consumer of time. I never really had any problem with...

    Ford racing motor install

I'm running a carbureted GT-40X crate motor and LOVE it. OK, so it's not forged, and the crate heads are mid-level performance (compared to the best available), but this thing was a piece of cake to put in my '85, and fired up first shot. I pulled the oil pan and the accessories and was able...

    HELP!! What fuel pressure??

If the cam is the only mod, try 16 degrees initial timing. Also, beware that the stock fuel system in your car is made for a steady 30-60psi. That kind of pressure will blow every seal in your carb. You will need to pull the pressure down to about 6-6.5 psi. In order to do that, you'll...

Squeaking, Popping Rear Suspension 01 Cobra

Fixed it!! I replaced the differential bushings with urethane... no change (they were hardly worn @ 60K). I put a '03 #4 brace... no change. I mean, both of these changes made a dramatic improvement in the handling and launch, but still the squeaking and popping was still there. After...
