I have read a bunch of great things about these distributors, and ordered one today for my '85 GT-40X car, but wanted to know what luck others had experienced, if any. If it's not worth it, I'll send it back before I crack the package. Thanks.

:nice: :nice: :nice: :hail2: :hail2:
I got one on my 408..... took about 2 Months to get the damn thing (Crane supposedly didn't have the part's in stock to build it at the time :nonono: ) but let me tell you.... It was worth it. Definetly the most technologicaly advanced street/strip distributor on the market today. The dial adjustment's are great as you can set your combo to a bunch of different advance curve setting's and same goes with the vac. adjustments. You can fool around with it with just the turn of a knob to get the most out of your engine. Extremely easy to hook up and use (Only 3 Wire's) and it's light as hell! I coudn't belive how light it was. MSD dosn't even compare to these Crane Distributor's.... Don't worry about returning it, you'll love it. Havn't had a problem with mine since the day I dropped it in.

Now's time to throw a Crane HI-6 and PS-92 Coil on with that distributor....
You just can't beat Crane Ignition System's.... There Cam's Suck S**T, but there ahead of the game with there ignition's.

Very encouraging news! Thanks for the feedback. I've got an Accel 300+ ignition on the car and I've been very impressed with it and the Accel distributor, but I've been having a hellacious time sorting through spring combos, various vacuum cans, and the associated adjustments. Just when I think I've got the right curve, it stumbles in a new range, almost exclusively due to my combo's vacuum limitations. If this is as easy as you say to twist and tune, it'll be worth every penny! Now you've got me stoked. I'll be hawking the mailbox!

If your sick of tuning, and swapping spring's etc. etc. like you say you are, then this distributor is DEFINETLY for you! When you get it PM me (or email: [email protected]) if you could and let me know what you think. I havn't talked to anyone else who is actually running a Crane unit as well, and I woudn't mind hearing what other's think. It would be interesting to see if you notice a power difference between the Accel and Crane distributor as well. Weight wise as well..... you won't believe how light the thing is, if weight matter's to you.
