well my second MSD 6A just died, and I want to replace it with something else. I hear the Crane stuff is much more reliable, but there are so many different kinds. so I'm looking for some suggestions to replace the 6A with a comperable unit. This is going on a totally stock 86 GT daily driver...

    Simple spring question???

guess I'm too late. I've got "C" springs on my '86 vert. Dead coil cut from the rears, and 1/2 coil cut from front. Drives like a tank on rails. Ran over a dime and felt it.:rlaugh::rlaugh:

New and need help with gauges on 5.0

if the IVR was bad I would think there would be an effect on all that it controls. The IVR drops 12 volt power down to 5 volts which is what the gauges need. If you take one of your gauges out and hook it up to a 9 volt battery the needle will peg

New and need help with gauges on 5.0

are the other gauges working properly? if not i would say the IVR is bad. if it's just the gas gauge... could be the gauge itself or the sending unit. as for the speedo...sounds like the wrong speedo gear. have the rear end gears been changed? 20 mph is alot to be off. sounds like you're...

dash lights wont turn on. PLEASE HELP!

I really don't think it's the bulbs. Chances of all going out at the same time is not likely. Maybe the switch is bad. The dimmer mechanism might be dirty or just faulty

    electric oil pressure gage

thanks for the response. it's been hooked up since Saturday, and so far I've noticed no difference in battery power. But I think I will do it right. One more problem I have is the dimming of the light. The gage does the opposite of the instrument cluster. Full instrument light... no gage. Full...
