    mine have a 5" backspace,and i'm runnin 265/50/15 on the rear (which are too wide for a 7" rim. it works but the tires wear in the middle). 215/60/15 in front which works good. maybe you could use a 295/50/15. 4.5" backspace might not be enough

    i've got 15 x 7 autodrags on my 86 vert. centerlines are good rims unless you do alot of hard cornering. like twisty mt. roads. in so. cal we have angeles crest hwy and driving it once or twice a week the rivets get loose, and you can't hold air. i've broken 2 rims where the whole center breaks...

    Corbeau Seats?

    FYI i have the corbeau seat tracks also. keep an eye on these welds (in the red square. typical both sides in front). mine broke. its a pretty cheezy weld. it did take a couple of years though. just throwin in my 2 cents :) [/IMG]

    destroyed door lock switch. HELP with wiring

    I've smashed my drivers side power door lock switch on an 86 gt vert. ( I won't get into how :rolleyes: ). I bought a new switch, but 6 posts and only 5 wires. can anyone lead me to get the right wire on the right post?

    i've got an 86 gt vert, and just purchased a new power amp, but its much bigger than my old one and won't fit under the seat. i know most people mount them in the trunk. if i put it on the floor of the trunk, then i can't access my spare tire. so i guess i'm asking for some other options

    the dash lights on my 86 gt vert won't dim. i replaced the switch, but it didn't help. any suggestions? the new switch works great in all other aspects.

    figured it out. it was the headlight switch....i guess. the car wouldn't start unless i turned on the lights. when the lights were off is when it got really hot. new switch...problem solved. btw it's only a 30 x 4 channel amp

    what is the difference between a 7 and 8 terminal headlight switch? if it's with or without foglights do i have to use the one for foglights even though they are not used?

    everything is stock. the only thing i've done to the motor is 2 timing chains. one at 145,00 the other at 290,000. the heads have never been off. stock rearend; tranny. and it runs fabulous, and passes calif smog legally

    thankx laser. for starters i am using the bargain rca connectors. will change those out. 1 more question for anyone.... should the amp (btw its a 4 channel) be away from the deck? right now mine sits right below it

    i've installed a pioneer 50 watt stereo cd player and a 30 watt power amp in my 86 gt vert. where is a good place to ground these to eliminate the high pitch whistle? i am also running an msd 6a ignition with the filter. i can't get rid of the whistle. i've read it's probably a grounding issue...

    not so the case here. the whole piece is solid orange with the lettering painted on the front side. its a negative. the front is painted black with the letters clear. i know its a solid orange piece because i broke a small piece of the corner off. btw it's an 86. appreciate the input

    here's an interesting request for the forum. i've changed out the hideous orange dash lights on my 86 gt vert. i found some blue bulb covers from an 83 gt. so now i need to do the a/c panel. much to my surprise, the lettering is printed on a piece of orange reflector plastic. not a bulb cover...
