    87-93 Vs. 94,95

Well in all fairness, if you don't plan on going crazy with power, hyper pistons are better. Lighter, and no oil burning when cold.

    ::MOVED::T-5 Tranny trouble

Did you adjust the clutch? I'm not saying you didn't, but sometimes people forget obvious things when they're really excited about something. Just in case you don't know the trick... 1. With engine off, put transmission in first. 2. Pull the clutch pedal up all the way with your foot...

    pulley problems

Well, not to nit-pick, but wouldn't putting in a high flow water pump and a higher amp alternator almost negate the benefits of having underdrive pullies? Not to mention the cost? For the price of what you want to do, you could put the stock pullies back on and get a new intake manifold, and...

Are axle dampers and quad shocks the same thing?

Yep, same thing. Just to back up 91BlckGT.

How can you tell if a 5.0 was previously a four-banger?

Well, if they didn't swap out the front springs, the front of the car would sit a couple inches lower. Smaller front disc brakes, smaller master cylinder, no quad shocks...

    How to check EGR?

I think my EGR may not be functioning properly. If I take the vacuum line off the egr, I can feel the vacuum line sucking in air, but how can I tell if the EGR is pushing anything out?

    discovered an AFPR!

Okay, I set it to 39 psi with vacuum line off and engine running. With the vacuum line on, the gauge reads about 31psi at idle. Is this normal?

Fuel System Upgrade... learned a lesson...

Well, most performance parts you put on a car only help at WOT, so basically with your logic every performance part is a waste of money.

Are aftermarket heads a "waste" with stock cam?

Just a ported lower intake? Leave the stock upper? So is the stock upper not very restrictive or something?

    discovered an AFPR!

I set it with the engine running? So 40psi with the vacuum line off isn't the same as 40psi with the vacuum line on?

    discovered an AFPR!

While checking my PCV valve I had to remove a little red vacuum hose from the FPR. While taking it off, I noticed it had an adjustment screw right where the hose went. The FPR wasn't very shiny, so I had just assumed it was stock. Anyways, the car already had a fuel pressure gauge mounted on...

    3G alternator with U/D pullies

Sorry, one more question: Did the 94-95 alternators come with a 2.5" pulley stock or a 1 7/8"? Because the one I got had a 1 7/8" pulley, and maybe the guy put it on to cover up for the fact that the alternator wasn't working to potential. Any thoughts on this?

    3G alternator with U/D pullies

I'm not sure if the alternator isn't performing properly, or what. Maybe I should just set the idle up about 100 RPM. How do you do this?

    3G alternator with U/D pullies

Is that with the 1 7/8" alternator pulley, or the 2.5 inch pulley?

    3G alternator with U/D pullies

I meant excessively lower than a normal alternator's voltage at low speed, and then picking up to about the normal alternator voltage at high speed.

    3G alternator with U/D pullies

Hmm. Where do you test for how much voltage the alternator is putting out? At the battery? I'd still like to hear more experiences with this though. Thanks for the input! Has anyone ever heard of an alternator making crappy low speed voltage but still making plenty voltage once it gets...

    3G alternator with U/D pullies

Well, after much talk and little action, I finally motivated myself to do the 3G alternator swap yesterday. I bought a used 3G alternator from ebay for $50, which came with the harness so I could cut the stator wire off. I used 4 gauge wire without a fuse (temporary). It charges better...
