    Timing won't stay set

    I'm confused as to why you guys are pointing to the timing chain. I can't see how that would effect his ignition timing without messing up the valve timing. I would also suspect a problem with the hold down clamp.

    voltage regulator?

    I think he's talking about the regulator for the alternator/charging system, not the CVR for guages. Sounds like the problem is either the regulator or alternator. When my car started doing this, it turned out to be the alternator.

    I havn't been hearing a lot of good things about beehive spring lately. Having said that, I'm wondering the same thing as woodsnake. Have you checked pushrod length? If it's a 69/70 block, you need shorter pushrods than what all of the other 351W's use.
