I have a 67 with a 289. Aluminum heads, intake, dual points with petronix distributor running a edelbrock 650. car had a dead mis/hit at about 3000 RPM when accelerating. I can creep up and surpass 3000 RPM with no issues but when going through the gears it feels like the engine hard shuts...
