Hi,
I was able to remove the serpentine belt with my hands, pull tensioner and remove. Does that mean the tensioner is weak/needs replaced? The pulley is loud as well other pulleys. Also the belt has a split at the last 2 ribs on it as well. Thoughts?
Hey all! I've had a squeal that's progressively gotten worse and lead me to replace the idler pulleys recently. I took another look with the belt off and can obviously see that it's rubbing the engine block when it's running over the tensioner, as in it doesn't stay on the tensioner enough and...
04 gt, just replaced my belt and idle pulley, I dont know what I did, but the belt tensioner is rubbing on the timing cover, my belt routing looks good, my idle pulley looks fine, I think from pulling the tensioner and it being OEM it might just be worn, I adjusted everything and it doesn't run...

Setting the timing on an 04 gt, before taking off the chains I set to tdc and marked chain at cam mark and the 6:00 mark on the crank. My chains had no visible links to differentiate but after the chains came off the 2 marks lined up at opposite ends so I felt confident in that.
