Hi all,

My g/f's '00 GT has had the intermitant problem many others have had...car just dies while driving. Had not happened in a few months but the other day it acted up again while she coming off the highway. Yesterday the car wouldn't stay running...it would fire over and then the rpms would drop and car would stall.
Any ideas? I'm thinking IAC needs to be replaced or cleaned....and probably change out those stock plugs w/60K on them!! (I've been waiting to change them out for a long time now!)

(BTW....anyone having problems getting into the Corral today?)

Thanks,
Mike

I'm gonna try to clean the IAC tonight. The car sat overnight and still wouldn't stay running today. Hope that is it b/c I'm not sure what else it could be. Not sure how well the car is running above idle b/c it hasn't stayed running long enuf to tell! I do know it was running fine Monday night before my g/f parked it.

I dunno about the IAC but I know my car has trouble cranking over sometimes. Mostly due to cold starts I'd think but sometimes it helps to push the skinny pedal a tiny bit to get some fuel in and the car starts up without a problem.
Good luck!

That happened to me about 2 months after I bought my GT 'Vert.
I was on the highway, then the power seat moved a little.
The way the controls are located, I thought I had moved it with my legs, but I did not. Then a few minutes later the charging gauge went haywire, went off, then on again.
Then my GT died on the highway. It would crank, but not start.
It seems that it was a bad ground from the fuse box that did it.

Oh well, I guess someone at Ford did not have their morning coffee when they build my GT 'Vert that day!
