I am looking for a 01-02 gt 5spd, leather with about 25-40k miles. What price do you think would be considered very good while still being realistic? I am looking for that great deal, and I want to know at what point I should jump on it.

Looking in a recent Auto Trader, 01-02's go for anywhere from $11,000 to 16,000 depending on the type of seller, mileage, transmission, condition, and options. Good luck!

I'll tell you what a great deal would be. Find a Bullitt with between 10k and 25k miles on it. They are selling for between $13k - $18k, with most going for around $15k or so. Basically you might pay an extra $1,000 or $1,500 over what a comparable GT would go for, but you are getting a lot for your money.

If you want to mod the car, you have a much better starting point with the Bullitt intake, tokico shocks, lower stance, improved exhaust, etc. Plus it looks a hell of a lot better than a GT. If you want to stay stock, then you have a car that has probably depreciated pretty close to all it is going to depreciate, other than for the mileage you put on it. Plus it is a kick ass car to drive even in stock form.

Might be best to wait a few months and get a leftover 2004. I picked up my 2003 Premium GT with the interior upgrade & polished wheels for $18,400 in December.

Yes, and note the difference in prices between "private party" and "dealership".
