Will 10 lbs of boost and an additional 142hp be enough for a 2000 GT to out edge one of the most badass cobras to date..... the '03.

depends on supporting mods. with a supercharger alone, you won't.

add exhaust, gears and tires and you could edge out a Cobra.

GT with a KB can get to 450+hp, but like everyone said the Cobra slaps on the KB he goes to 600+

the only way to mess with an 03 cobra is to buy one yourself.

If they've done basic mods to their Cobra, you won't win.

I have a 00 GT 5-SPD WITH 3.73S and all the bolt ons I could find. I ran 13.5 before the pro-charger. I havent gotten to run again with everything working but I ran a 12.6 with a clutch slipping very badly and a burnt oxygen senser. I have since made the repairs but havent been back yet. Now my belt is slipping and I am only getting 8 or 9 psi. Any way I tore up a Z06 by 5-7 cars and they are supposed to be faster than a Cobra stock for stock. Doesnt take much to make them scream though

A Z06 is not much faster than a stock cobra. They are rated @425hp most dyno @ 380-390. Cobra is rated 390 (but everyone knows that) dyno @ 360-400.
Nice kill on the Z06

I hope it didnt sound like I was tring to take anything away froma Cobra. Trust me I wasnt. I love those cars. There is one here in K.C. running high 10s with bolt ons, slicks, and a tune. I need another $5000 to make mine go that fast on top of the already $6500 I spent. 12.7 OUT OF A BONE STOCK CAR IS JUST SICK!!! Bowtie my ass. lol

It just became alot cheaper to beat an 03 cobra or at least hang with one. Just check out this thread:

How is that "cheaper"? I HIGHLY doubt that an aftermarket shortblock, cams, and a Novi pushing 15+ PSI is "cheaper".

A S/C kit, and bolt ons put a GT running with Cobras on the STOCK bottom end.

Probably should have stipulated that it just got cheaper to hang with a modded 03 Cobra. Of course they can pulley down and get to 460rwhp easily while a GT's block is probably on borrowed time at 420rwhp. I still think you are right as far as the 03 being cheaper to get to 600rwhp but it just got a good bit cheaper to get a 2valve to 600rwhp with these new cams.

Hmmm. 5-7 car lengths on a Z06??? I ran a Z06 with just a cat-back and a great driver and he pulled away ever so slowly from about 100-130mph. We ran from a roll and I shifted at 6100-6200rpm. You can't have THAT much more power than me . . . I'm pushing 12lbs through an S-trim with longtubes. You must have raced a crappy driver or a busted Z06.

I ran a Z06 at the track and got my ass handed by .5 seconds. We might have more power with the blowers, but they're lighter and more aerodynamic. Im on stock gears as well though

Yep that is a nice setup. But would run around 10K+ which would put you at the same price as a new Cobra. So it would be cheaper to mod a GT to get to 600HP
