Need some input on the asking price of this sweet 03' 10th anniversary Cobra! This is the car I've been looking for and this is not mine to sell, so please don't move this thread to the classifieds. This car is at a local dealer and before I go and haggle over price, I'd like to get some input on how much I can get them to come down. Or is this a heck of a price!

All stock, little over 7k miles. Dealer is asking $27,900. Seems to me from what I 've seen this isnt too bad of a price. All considered the mileage and perfect stock condition the car is in.

first get a blank check form a finance company like capitol one. it gives you all the power because your not asking them to do anything for you except sell you the car. and then talk him down 2gs

For comparison, I bought my 03 coupe with 9200 miles for 24,750. That was a darn good price. NOW, its not a vert and its not a 10th....so given those two things, and mine was not from a dealer....im thinking you can probably get them down to 27,000 and that would be fair. but 27,900 isnt a bad deal in reality....just not a good one either.

Edmunds.com lists the dealer retail of an outstanding condition 03 Cobra 10th anniv vert as $27,436, and taking into account that I entered a Hawaii zip code (not sure if that affects pricing or not).

So they're basically asking full retail, so you can bargain down from there.

As long as you don't start listing a dealership name, I'll let this stay open.

I'd say that's a good price considering your probably getting jacked 2K because it's a convertible. Other than that, I think the price is very reasonable. Nice low mileage too.

Just curious, what would you sell your 5 year old Mach for if it was bone stock and 7,000 miles? What should that Cobra be priced at for a 5 year old car with 7,000 miles? Just wondering. The red interior is really bad. I hate the color red. It screws with my eyes.

I wouldnt sell it for anywhere near $28,000... My car is only worth $20,000 with that same mileage. The KBB value on that car is pretty high I guess, because termi's are overpriced & the whole 10th anniversary package adds alot to it, but I wouldnt pay that much for it. Its not me buying it though so it doesnt matter....

So if you hate the color red, u must hate my car too?

Whats wrong with Torch red?? Red leather interior= nasty, but Torch red exterior= very sexy!!! Torch Red was the color of the Mach 1 concept, & red is just a classic musclecar & sports car color???

Find some financing first. Then walk in with a cashiers check and tell them you have 24,200 cash for it right now. Make it a simple yes or no question for them period. No haggling, either they accept or they don't. They usually will when you're standing there with a cashiers check. If they say no, then give them your number and tell them to call you when they're ready to accept your offer.

When they interviewed Scott Hoag for MMFF magazine he was sitting on an Azure Blue Mach. I've only owned blue Mustangs. 3 of them. The color just does it for me.

Thats not entirely true. I worked for several years as a car sales man and also General Sales Manager and even finance dept. Dealerships are willing to give a bigger discount on a financed car. I remember several occasions of my desk person saying " well since hes financing we can let him have it for that price cause we can make it up on the back end with points (meening percentage of the finance charge)" That being said that dealership is prolly in the car 22-23K and will take 25K no problem. My 03 Annv Cobra Vert was a trade in at the dealer I worked at. 9k miles and flawless, we picked it up for 20,800. Because sooo many sales people had buyers for it I had to pay 23,500 to get it. I sold it before I moved for 29k and it had 15000 on it.
