Just wondering, I used the MAC CAI off my 97 Cobra on my 03. I've noticed that most evryone with 03s have setups that have an open filter in the engine compartment. is the filter in the fenderwell not a good setup for the 03s? it worked great on my 97...

I think because of the blower they want the filter right in front of the MAF. If you put the filter in the fender there is a couple of turns before it hits the MAF and may effect the reading.

That's my guess

If you had a MAC before, it didn't work great at doing much besides looking pretty under the hood I bet...they just don't make that great of a CAI or anything else for that matter...

Densecharger makes an in-fender CAI and some other brands as well. Some have had trouble getting MAF readings correct due to the bends in the pipe, but others have worked fine. Seems to be kind of a love it or hate it thing with 03 owners. I really like the big ass filter look sitting there with the kit I got from Anderson Ford (cheap too). I also don't buy into the "heat shield" thing that are being sold with either, but thats just me.

It's outa there..... put the air filter minus the snout back on. That MAC was chocking my car. Seems better now. I'm putting on my Magnaflow catback tomorrow then I'll go get the Steeda or K & N filter setup.

Thanks
