Greetings,

I'm looking into getting either an 03 GT or Mach 1 (big difference, I know... I'm just having trouble deciding -- hmm... power vs. $...). I'm talking to this guy at a dealership who's got an 03 Mach 1, 5-spd, with 184 miles on it.

Sticker price on it was $29-something, which seemed absurd to me since you can get one brand new for that + the 0% financing deal. I talked the guy down to $23k + tax, tags & title.

Awfully tempting in my opinion, but what do you guys think? I just need some external justification here.

Thanks!

tell him you'll do it for 22k + tax title and license. and be prepared to do it too.

I am in your boat. I too am considering buying a Mach. It's an 04 & stickered @ 31000. The sales guy I'm working w/ is someone I used to work w/ @ another dealer about 3 years ago & the dealer was just bought buy another dealer so he's gonna get me a Mach @ a liquidation price since they're closing out a liquidation period. If I can get them down to 27000 w/ 0% over 6 years I'd pay exactly what I pay for my current Mustang per month.

I've seen some dealers who are trying to get the 03 mach 1's off the lots and the prices are less than a new 04 gt, the prices i have seen are around $23,000. Just do some research on the dealers websites in your local area say within a 150 mile radius, i'm sure a 03 mach 1 should still be on someone's lot, but there aren't many left, you might have to sacrifice for a color you don't like or either a tranny you wouldn't prefer driving but yes i think there are still some out there.
