just put T-56 tranny and bell housing on now starter makes high pitched whine right after /when car starts. Turns over fine

Is the bell housiing a steel piece, or is it the stock design aluminum? Ive heard the shatter resistant steel bell housings for drag racing can be a little loud and ring a bit.

It is the steel scatter shield just pulled bell housing to make sure all was aligned looked good and no change still has high pitched whine right as engine starts
