03 Mustang Shifter issues

Hey guys,

I have a 03 Mustang GT Automatic and lately the shifter has been a pain to move from park

When I push the brake all the way and try to pull the shifter into reverse, it does not want to go... I have to wiggle it very hard just to get it to go in gear.

Also, when going into park from reverse, there is a slight resistance...

Any idea what this could be? I don't know if it's the winter weather or not

I just heard of this happening to a coworker's friends car. I can't remember exactly what it was, I *think* the shifter had to be replaced.

Have you checked your transmission fluid level?

Actually no, do you think this would have anything at all to do with it?

I only have the issue with park.. either shifting out of it or going back in

could be a bad brake light switch.

It's weird because the lights work fine?
