Only 04s: The location of the o2 sensors were changed on the 04s. Where do the real ones go, and where do the MILs go? MILs in rear, real ones in front?

Ummm let me see if I can help you. I just put my BBK off-road X-pipe on and I can tell you where all of my o2 sensors were at. The front 2 were up ahead of the front cats really close to the stock headers. The rear 2 were in between the front and rear cats. This is where I ran into my problem b/c the rear o2 sensor wires are a lot shorter than what is needed. On my new x-pipe the o2 snsors are about 10-12" further back than the stock wires will reach. The MILs take up about 4" of that length and now I need to order some extensions. I've been running around without my rear o2 sensors pugged in and my check engine light has come on but nothing bad has come about.......yet. I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions just ask.

Thanks. You put the STOCK o2 in the front (by headers) back in the new X pipe right? And put MIL Eliminators in the rear holes.

I'm in the same boat as you, my rear ones do not reach. I'm running very rich.

The stock o2 sensors go in all of the holes. Just make sure you put each sensor in the same spot as it came out. For example the driver-side rear sensor can only go in the driver-side rear. The MILs go in between where you plug the wires into your rear sensors.

something like this.........

wires coming from car----> >----MIL----> >----o2 sensor

Hope that helps. Oh 2 more tips:
1. Take out your stock h-pipe and sit on the ground beside your new x-pipe and take out the o2 sensors one at a time putting them into the new x-pipe as you take them out.
2. Go and buy an o2 sensor socket. It'll make your life a lot easier taking those things out. I broke one of mine and it costed me 45$. Just be careful that the sensors don't cross-thread.

Good luck to you. Any more questions? I can try and help as much as possible.

Steeda, thanks so much. I put the X pipe on with my friend, but we accidently cut off the o2 sensors (we were tired and not thinking)

So the next day (driving with no o2s plugged in) I drove to a local shop and just had them order o2s and i handed them the MIL's I got with the pipe. I just wanted to be done and have it running and relax. But now its rich. They might have put them in in the wrong order or wrong sockets. Anyway to tell now which goes where? markings on them?

Hmm I think on the stock sensors it says which side and such but on the Bosch ones it doesn't say anything. I don't know if mine is running rich or lean at the moment b/c I have not put my air/fuel gauge in yet. How rich is it running? If it's only a little bit I wouldn't be worried about it. Actually this is setting you up for nitrous.............lol
