I haven't heard any clips but the mufflers had to be put behind the rear axle due to the gas tank being in front of the axle for safety reasons.

Yes there are clips but I don't remember where right off hand. And it sounds very nice.

I found a couple of short video clips that feature the exhaust note:

that sounds ok stock but with some flows it would be killer with the stock H speaking of H whats the word on that since the gas tank is infront of the axle?

Here's a pic of the exhaust system and suspension. It's not a closeup but you can see the H pipe.

seriously i guess ford got a clue looks like they used exhaust clamps................ doesnt look like ti will be to hard to take off........also IMO the exahust would be less restrictive with the muffs back there because the exhaust is at full force when it reaches the back so you get louder sound from ford POS mufflers............

While a "cool sounding exhaust" is a good thing, how come people are more interested in how it sounds than how it performs?

Ever drive a '68-'70 Mopar B-body? The worlds WORST sounding starter, people look at you strange in the parking lot.

But you are starting a big block Charger, Road Runner, GTX, etc. Who cares how it sounds, if it runs like a scalded dog?

Just my 2 cents...

They are more concerned with sound. Mainly because from what I have seen. You don't get all that much difference in performance anymore. So you go for sound.

I choose exhaust set up for sound. There isn't much difference in performance between H/X Pipe and muffler combos.

Factory mufflers are much better than they used to be in terms of performance. There isn't much performance to be gained there at all, so all you're getting is a louder car. I'm past that.

I hear you there. I left the exhaust on my Lightning stock, because everywhere I checked I found that the aftermarket exhaust kits offered negligible gains (unless you're doing freakishly advanced modding on the motor) and alot of extra noise. Lightnings with aftermarket exhaust sound just like an old beat up Chevy mud truck with straight pipes. Yuck. I think on the '05 Mustang though, since you can see them when you're driving behind the car, polished stainless mufflers will be popular for flash-upscale-factor.

I still have the stock exhaust on my '98 Cobra. I have polished the tips since new and they look great, fit great and sound pretty good now that they are 'seasoned' a little. I would eventually like to get some high-flow cats, but the rest will stay as-is.

The best part - no drone!

Stainless is nice because it is functional....

Personally I think I may just spray paint the mufflers flat black.

On my old '66 fastback I used to own, I added dual exhaust with drop downs before the axle (too cheap at the time to go all the way back). I had the shop paint the entire exhaust flat black.

Unlike kids, an exhaust system should be heard and not seen (lol). Actually, a true sleeper would be neither heard nor seen!

Speaking of function before form.... or vice versa... we all see a disturbing trend where carbon fiber is used as a non-functional finish on interior and exterior bolt-on cosmetics. What's up with that? Again, if you can make a carbon fiber component that is lighter and or stronger than a comparable component made of steel, plastic, or regular fiber glass, the more power to you. If you are strapping on a carbon fiber dash cover that's all bling and no blast, then what's the point? To show that you thing carbon fiber is cool too?

I guess I'm just an old f_rt.
