For anyone following any of the Cobra Vs 05 arguements, since we (Cobra defendants) quit posting, they have a new subject.

It is whether or not they can beat a Neon RT4, most 05'ers feel it would be close.

Wonder why we do not ponder that on the SVT forum.

Will my 03 Cobra beat a Neon?????

We are too busy worrying about those pesky Z06's.

It makes sense they want to compare it to everything because it's the new kid on the block. It's a nice car but some (just some not all) 05 owners seem like real noobs and since it's the first V8 Stang they've ever driven they think it's the fastest thing on the road.

I actually started that post- just to see what people would say, because my buddy drives a SRTeon-4 and is always talking smack- I am actually in the debacle of having to choose between an '03/'04 Cobra or the new '05 GT- I know what each is and I'm not a noob- had Mustangs since I was 17- but making the decision is still the hardest thing in the world- b/c whatever I come home with I'll want the other one a week later. But one simply cannot compare an '03/'04 Cobra to an '05 GT in terms of engine or speed- style and appeal yes- engine- NO!

If you want sheer power then go Cobra, what $1500 in mods and it's relatively unbeatable on the streets, looks meaner too at least to me it does.

Dude, you gave them a rope and they hung themselves.

Pick the Cobra and you will never look back. Pick the GT and you will always second guess especially when you line up next to a Cobra. That's my opinion now, but there is always someone satisfied with the slower car, that's what makes the world go round.

personally, i'd take a 05 GT and add a KB blower instead of buying a 03/04 Cobra. having checked out both cars, the Cobra is no doubt much faster but i can't help but feel that the 05 GT is a better overall car.

Then you're back at the same scenario. The 05 will probably have more power potential than a two valve. So supercharging it with a 6# kit could probably bring an easy 400+ rearwheel. The downside no bottom end. So basically you blow it, you build it. Which monetarily brings us back to the Cobra . Some people in the 05 forum just didn't see it that way.

You are preaching to the Choir dude.

Just pointing out that they are free to choose.

I cannot understand why anyone would pass up a deal on a 2004 Cobra. I cannot understand why people eat raw fish either.
