Hi! I'm new here and to mustangs in general. I have a 2006 GT with an automatic tranny. When slowing down i hear a grinding (metal to metal) noise coming from what sounds like the rear driver side axle. Also, it doesn't just happen when turning but also in a straight line, intermittently and low speeds (3-7mph). I just did brakes and it didn't cure the problem. Also, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. TracLok seems to be working but I did notice a little play in the axles from side to side. It sounds like the axle bearings may be failing? I also get a whine at about 60-65 mph that goes away when i lift off the accelerator.
Does anyone have ideas?
