I'm obviously new to posting here, usually I simply browse about as a typical guest, but had to register in order to as for help. (Plus I get tired of just being a shadow..lol)
Anyway, here is my issue I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out...
2008 v6 automatic transmission
Obviously closed system (can't check tranny fluids)
180k miles
I replaced my alternator about 2 months ago and my son in law converted my battery connection into direct connection. An hour after I replaced the alternator, the car goes into D and R but doesn't move. 1,2,3 it will drive after a small jerks into the gear and N she rolls freely.
I had no issue before the alternator, and even drove around the block after the alternator. Once I turned the car off, went inside the house, came back and went to drive the car, she said "nope I'm not moving".
Now it's almost as if reverse and drive are engaging but the brakes are locked, but if I go into neutral, she rolls smooth. I'm kinda looking at somehow the alternator did something, but no codes were coming up on my son in laws scanner.
