I don't have a clue. On mine, it's hard to get the trunk to latch closed. Only way it gets done is if I hit the trunk release on my remote right before dropping the trunk. Latches right up. If I don't hit the remote, it won't latch. Tried using the key to do it, didn't work. Weird.

Mine ended up being some cut wires. I was tracing the wires back and when I got to the part where the bundle of wires goes from the trunk lid to the body of the car inside the trunk, I noticed that the tape had been peeled away and some of the wires were either frayed or cut by something inside the trunk. Spliced them back together, re-taped real good, and everything is working again.
