well i could be wrong but on my current antenna the threading sticks out of the antenna which would go into the car. If you look at there picture of the black one, the threading would go into the antenna

It looks great. It matches up perfectly with the roof line. To me, it helps make my car look lower since it doesn't have a flag pole sitting on the fender. It should have come stock like that. I haven't lost any radio reception so that shouldn't be a concern.

Make your own. Pull the ball off, saw it to length, glue the ball back on. Takes 10 minutes and works great.

My car came with a 14" antenna on it. Bad part is that it's one of those that is flexible so if i drive on the highway or anything over 40 miles an hour its bent at a ninety degree angle ang looks ghey.

Cut it down yourself. My car is currently stored for winter, and I am in the process of chopping + painting the antenna.

With materials (hacksaw, sandpaper, paint, Lock Tite, etc.) it stills comes out cheaper for ME, then buying a shorty antenna. Plus, I have the satisfaction of working on my car, and chopping it to my own length (still undecided - probably 18 inches).

Looks not as tall . No, it looks real good, 10x better than stock I think. It give the appearance a better look imo.

If so, I'll possibly do this tomorrow.

Just do what I did, I went to Advance Auto and bought a cheap black antenna, and then cut it off to length and then sharpened the point. Now I have a "Bullitt" tipped antenna.

Seriously?

If so, that's crazy because 5 or 6 years ago I was driving like 110 on a highway that is in the country (so to speak) and I cut a bird in half with my antenna. Scared the **** out of me. Two bird halves on the windshield.

I cut my antenna, glued a ceiling fan bearing to the top, painted it, showed a friend of mine and a week later it was on mustangworld.com

I had never seen it done before I cut mine ... only reason I did was because of my bird encounter. Now, people are buying "shortie antennas" ... crazy
