I am an 8-year owner, but new to the forums.
I have a 1 barrel Carter (RBS) Carburetor on a 200 in-line 6. Using two different Carter cores, I've rebuilt the carb multiple times and still have fueling issues. Currently, the needle-seat is POURING out fuel when the car starts. So, I turn if off quickly and can't figure out what the problems is. Much of the advice that I get is..."the needle and seat is INSIDE the carb. You dont need one in the fuel line." I KNOW this is not the case with what I have. The car ran fine for many years with the needle-seat where it is. Like I said, I've taken the carb apart many times...there's not a needle-seat inside anywhere.
Second, but associated problem.....
The threads on the needle-seat are wearing out, but I have yet to find a version of a carb rebuild kit that contains the needle seat.
Q1: What's causing the fuel leak and how can I fix it?
Q2: Where can I find a needle-seat for an out-of-carb Carter one-barrell?
