I recently took my 1966 coupe to a local shop for restoration.
Thought you may be interested in watching along with me at the progress.

I basically pulled most of it apart before I sent it to him. He will be doing the body work and paint. Possibly some of the reassembly. We will see how far the money goes.

5/4/2009-
Just getting started stripping the paint.

I am doing my 66 right now as well.

Your front fenders are in pretty goos shape.

Good luck w/ the restoration.

One is an aftermarket replacement that I put on several years ago after a wreck. The other is original, however the body shop says that it had been repaired at one point. They will both be good as new after this.

More pics in my album.

Down to bare metal and new primer. The left rear quarter is coming off.

Most of the floor pans and the cowl are being replaced also.

Thats an involved procedure. I'm glad I didn't have to do that to mine.

I feel your pain...

I had my cowl replaced on my 65 before I left for Iraq. Wish I would have done it myself but didnt' think I had the skills....job cost me like 1700 bucks....Could have bought a decent TIG and jumped on it for that......still gotta yank the floor pans out..and still don't have the welder
