Let me first intorduce myself. I was lucky enough to grow up around Mustangs. We had a 67 fastback 427 4 spd car and a few 67 GTA's, our friend had a GT500KR and still has a GT350. In the family we still have a 65 Fastback, just sold a 71 Mach and just bought a 1969 "Fastback". Out of all of these (except the KR) this is one of the coolest but we are having troubles figuring it out. It has tilting and swing away steering in it. I know how it works and I know it was an option but the strange thing on the door tag is the word "BANDIDO". We are stumped, does anyone know about this model. The vin breaks it down as a Fastback with Lux. int., 2.75 posi, FMX, White Comfort weave, Indian Fire, made in Dearborn and sent to Seattle with a 351 2v made Dec 06 1968. Not a Mach or GT. Any info would be a great help. Thanks

I beleive bnickel is correct regarding the "Bandido" being a Mexican built special model Mustang... but given the decode you provide (built in Dearborn, shipped to Seattle, etc.), it is more likely that the door is a replacement transplant than an original (possibly because of an accident?).

Either way, sounds like a nice car to play with... :nice:

Like I said in my opening this isn't our first Mustang. My step Dad is a paint guy here in Spokane WA and has done a ton of cars of all makes over the last 30 years and this car shows no sign of damage at any time. It has 67K orig. miles that have been pretty well documented. I'm going to go take another look on Sunday I hope to see if I can find anything else funny. Like I said it's on the door tag along with a vin# and the vin matches elsewhere on the car as well and the title too. Thanks for your info, it's been a while sense I've messed with these cars. I'm sure I'll get some grief over it but I'm a IH fan through and through, just trying to help my internet dumb parents. Thanks for the input, I'll update the thread if I find anything concrete.
