Engine 1984 GT 5.0 Timing and Carb adjustment procedure

Anybody have the correct adjustment procedure for checking the timing and adjusting the carb on a 1984 GT 5.0? Much appreciated

Unplug your vacuum advance before you check timing... Make sure your idle is not too high
Make sure you plug the vacuum advance back in when done..
Might want to check your vacuum advance can with a hand vacuum pump and make sure its working..
